OLP at Pre-Vma concert

OLP are playing with Moby on August 27th in the city for MTVs pre-vma party. It seems the only way to get tickets is to listen to K-Rock and that is torture. Anyone know how else to get tickets?

noooo i think thats the only way. i wanna go way bad! it sucks thought cause i can't get krock at my house, otherwise i would listen all day till i got tix... rrrrr.

maybe there will be scalpers? how much could a ticket cost $40?

well i'm gonna be in the city on that day anyway so i was just planning to show up at the pier and go from there, and its outdoors so if they're playing or anything i'd be able to hear it. i dunno, i feel like since its an mtv thing scalped tix would cost way more than that, and who's to say they'd even be real?

I didn't want to announce this show because it wasn't certain how tickets were given. last year they did a pre-show with Chemical brotheres, fat boy slim and Crystal Method.

I knew after hammerstein about this show. I was told by the band. last year when they did something like this it was free.

it is moby, OLP, DJ shaw and dickweed, digweed what ever their name was. AS far as I know K-rock is giving awyay tickets. I know the village voice will have details this week.

Why is the subway scary? I go on the subway all the time, but it's a Toronto subway, so i don't know if it is different than the subways in New York

yeah, it ain't scary, you just gotta read the map before you get on and know if you're goin up or downtown. and yeah there may be weird people sometimes but, doesn't that just make life interesting?

the pier is on 14th street and west end avenue. You can take th enumber 1, 2, 3 trin down from Penn to 14th street and change to the M14 bus going west. it will let you off right there.

WOW working for the MTA has it's privileges.

also I would assume it will start about 7ish. They did last year.

I will b eout of towm for the next few days. Seeing this little unknown band called Our Lady Peace-ever hear of them' haha

ok so according to moby.com the concert is free. People are allowed in on a first come basis. The concert starts at 6:30 and my guess is OLP will go on about 7:15. If it is free why is OMA giving away tickets??? anyone else plan on going?

we're all actually very confused about the ticket situation right now. its free, thats for sure. but there was a news bulletin that said you have to pick up the tix at virgin megastores in manhattan. this causes a problem for me since i live way far from a virgin megastore and the earliest i would be able to get tix is monday, but i'm bettin they'll all be gone by then. but we're not exactly sure about the virgin megastore thing cause on the moby website it says "first come (to the pier?) first served." :freak:

Being its run by MTV of course there is no sort of order involved in the planning of this concert. We are just planning to show up at the pier in the afternoon and go from there.

I got you guys tickets for this. I went by Virgin today and they had tickets left.

OLP are playing 45 minutes. Duncan told me that last night. Still 45 minutes is something. I told him you didn't play much longer when you guys opened for Third Eye Blind afew years ago.

awesome! as of tonight virgin still had tix left so my brother is gonna go to the city and try and pick up 4 more tommorow. So we all should be covered. I think we are all gonna arrive about 1 so you could meet up with us in line. I doubt we will get anywhere near front but who knows. 45 minutes isnt to bad i mean a hour would be nice but we take what we could get. :mrgreen:
