Ash bus accident

Post by bort8 »

"ASH have been involved in a bus crash in the US.

The band are playing dates on Moby's Area:2 festival. They were en-route to Detroit when the crash happened. According to initial reports, none of the band's injuries are life threatening.

Writing on the fan website, www.ash-unofficial.com, bassist Mark Hamilton said: "We've been though a nightmare 24 hours travelling to make to Detroit. Rick has broken ribs, Chaz (Charlotte) isn't as bad as was thought, but I'm claiming a double whipper. Show must go on."

A spokesperson for the band told NME.COM that although it was too soon to be certain, he was confident their appearance at this weekend's Carling Weekend festivals in Reading and Leeds should still go ahead."

Doesn't Ash just tour in a conversion van? Or maybe they moved on up and got a rv like Greenwheel.

Hmm...Ash was supposed to play at this bar in St. Clair Shores a few days ago. I wonder if that's when they got in the accident.

I hope they are all doing well. That's strange, a lot of bands have been getting into accidents lately...

Yeah, dead or alive, they better play! Who needs ribs and legs when you can strum your guitar from a wheelchair while in an oxygen mask?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

...soooo... they got in a van accident?

I want to see them live again. I think I liked them more than Greenwheel, but I'm not sure. They were both more awesome that I thought they would be.

I wasn't too excited by their set before OLP. They didn't seem to energetic. And I did meet the lady of the group before the show, and I didn't even know it. Go figure?

I thought Ash was pretty awesome...I liked Greenwheel too, but I was WAY too close to the speaker, and I really couldn't understand any of their lyrics. But yeah, Greenwheel was much more energetic than Ash when I saw the both of them in concert...Greenwheel's a little too energetic in my opinion...

I'm investing in ear plugs for the next concert.

maybe not too energetic, I think I meant, too emotional...I thought it looked like the lead singer was trying a little too hard. 8O <-- accurately describes me when I was watching them play.

Ash are my gods. Hehe.

It's nice to see people over there like them too.

"The Bad news is Reading Festival is still in doubt. Ash have told ash-unofficial exclusively that the extent of injury to the band is worse than first expected. Rick's ribs are a major problem. "he can barely lift his arms, and whats the use of a drummer than cant lift his arms?" - Mark Hamilton. Charlotte's arm injury is also casuing complications and she hasnt been able to complete a full set without serious pain. Tim and Mark seem to have fared better and are recovering well. Its touch and go wether they will be ready for reading. Tim says "we dont have enough time to reherse with anyone else" so there wont be a replacement band member. its all or nothing. cross your fingers."

...I daresay thats been updated now though.
