My little brother jokes about how olp is going mainstream... (and he's 11) He comes in my room, saying, "they played somewhere out there on the triple x commercial. I thought he was kidding, but low and behold he was right.

I was then to be part of the mystery,
to love and be loved. Let's just hope that is enough.

Ack! There it is again! :freak:

It wouldn't be so bad if that movie didn't suck.

I think it's just frustrating to see quality music right alongside a crap movie.

ahhhh well that's understandable .. I never saw the movie but it does look pretty bad :| Would that have been olp's decision or sony's decision to do that?

So if olp was against the idea .. it wouldn't matter? Sony could do it anyway? .. Or would they need olp's permission? .. I'm just curious about how much power Sony really has over them

I dunno... I guess only Sony and OLP really know how it would work...

Maybe Sony asked while OLP was out getting wasted or something.

"Hey, we're gunna play your song in a movie commercial. That okay?"
"Yeah, whatever.... *barf*"

...bad joke. I should sleep

I'd have to hope the guys weren't jumping for joy over getting their song on a commercial...

ya but it was a remix version... didnt have Raines lil squeals at the beginning (his Ya-ya-ya-ee and his mmmm-ah) so ya just not the same Starseed as I've at least grown to love

I have not seen that commercial. I am now confused.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

Okay, I don't get it, has anyone actually seen this movie? Can they prove that it's bad? If it's good, then congrats OLP. That's all I have to say. If it was on the soundtrack though, then more american listeners could find out who is singing the song and actually look into OLP more.

You can't ever "prove" something is bad. Quality doesn't work like that. I'm sure there are people who love XXX. It looks stupid as hell, and I have to disagree with clumsyfish.. it doesn't sound like it suits the movie, or even the clips they played, at all.. It's not really worth getting upset over, though.. I couldn't care less, really.

From what I remember, OLP themselves had a remarkable degree of control over their career, compared to what's given to most bands.. so I doubt Sony would do anything OLP was opposed to.. and OLP made an album that was intended for the role they're having it play, so, that kind've indicates consent, to me.

if anybody noticed the song doesn't go with the movie or the comercial:

Vin Deisal: Ok, i have an Idea, why don't we put heavy metal and rap in the movie while shit blows up and a song that you never thought you'd here shit blow up to in the commercial

Rob Cohen: Thats brilliant... we can make this movie blow more than it was intended too

Vin Deisal: YEAH, and everyone will see it because shit blows up and girls think i'm attractive

Rob Cohen: YAY ITS gonna make millions!
