OLP Live Album Rumor

This was on Rich and Shelley's site earlier, thought I'd share:

There is a rumour that on September 24th Our Lady Peace will release a "live" 4 track bonus value cd, with one track being Starseed. The recently released Australian Gravity also had a bonus cd. It's likely going to be the same. Also, considering they are playing in Birmingham that day, we are guessing you will be able to purchase their cd with the bonus cd and possibly a meet-and-greet autograph session. Please be aware that none of this is confirmed, and is all just a possibility.

whoowhoo...that's two days before my birthday. so you wouldn't be able to get the cd unless you went to the autograph signing? damn...i hope that's not the deal cause then there isn't a snowball's chance anywhere that i could get ahold of it. come on olp...make it available throw olp.net, or something like that, i want a copy! :mrgreen:

if it is only an in store give away then a few CM'ers should show up and get enough for everyone and then we could pay to have them sent and stuff.

It doesn't sound like it's only an in store thing .. they're just gonna be performing in Birmingham that day so as a special treat to those people they'll be doing a meet and greet thing, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be released to everyone else too .. I hope so

I wish it was more than 4 tracks but I guess that's what ya get from a "bonus value" cd lol. But one of those tracks had better be the piano version of Julia!!

I think I know what they're gonna do. The cd will be released on the day of that show, and the cd's will be available there. When you buy an OLP cd at an OLP concert nowadays, you get a pass to go through a line to meet the band. So that's what they're getting at, if you buy the cd at the show, you get to walk through line and have OLP sign the cd. It's not a one night only cd deal, just you can meet the band after the show.

yeah, but this cd's only going to have four songs on it, right? So obviously, they can't sell it for as much as Gravity goes for...or can they? I mean, if they sold it for cheaper than Gravity, they'd be losing money, right?

I dunno. It made sense when I first thought about it. :roll:

I don't think olp are putting this cd out in another effort to make money though .. I think it's just something nice they're doing for the fans

Sony must kinda get pist that the band sticks around and chats with everyone anyways after the show...
I wonder if they've ever told the guys to stop doing that cause thats what the meet and greet is for?

When we tried to meet them after the Sarnia show .. only Raine came out and he kept saying, "I can't come out any further, they won't let me" .. he was talking about the guards but still .. I found it weird considering there was only maybe 10 of us so it's not like we were gonna mob him. But he couldn't come out past the gate, just stood in the entry way ..

i hate meet and greets...grrr....i didn't know you needed a special pass otherwise i would have bought gravity again at the philly show. as was, they wouldn't let me go meet the band until they all got on the bus, but steve was nice enough to stay out and meet the other fans, who didn't have the passes. what a good guy. still, i think that's dumb. doesn't sony, that money making machine, know that the real fans already have the album. :mad:

Sony knows the fans have the album, but Sony knows if people really want to meet the band, they will buy the album again. They're assholes, but they're smart.
