Audiovent bus accident

Post by megxyz128 »

This isn't about OLP, but it relates to them so I thought I'd post it here, from mtvnews.com:

Audiovent's tour bus hit and critically injured a pedestrian following a concert Wednesday opening for Our Lady Peace at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The elderly woman — who witnesses say was being dragged across the street by her husband against the "Don't Walk" sign — was non-responsive and taken to a nearby hospital. Audiovent were not aboard the bus at the time of the accident, and the driver was not charged.

I feel bad for the lady, but damn, Audiovent sucks. I mean they really suck.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

To each their own. I like them. And so do a lot of other people apparently.

That sucks that someone got hurt though... But they can't hold the band responsible.

Wow, if you like what Incubus does, you'll like their half-as-good relatives just as much! They're not that good, and even though they're energetic in concert, you can't hear a damn word anyone says. Great way to drown out vocals with power cords guys.

Yeah.

Thanks, now I feel like my taste in music is not "up to snuff".

EVERYONE has a different opinion. I understand that. Just speak for yourself.

Just don't respond to anything I say anymore, ok Ahee? And Steph, the stuff I listen to is easily understood if you actually listen to it, and not bitch about the "lack of guitar work"

Yeah Steph, what happened to it? Last time I checked you think the music I like is shit because it doesn't have complicated guitar work in it. And don't deny it, because it was a constant whine when I made you listen to Alkaline Trio and New Found Glory.

what i say in private to you is different because you know i love you, if it really bugs you that much i can stop but please dont outright bash a band on the CM and then tell everyone that their taste in music sucks because they like it. how about we try and keep the peace? there are other ways to express your disinterest in a band

I didn't bash an entire genre of music here, unlike you have many times before Steph. Maybe when there are lyrics to Audiovent songs, I will like them, but until those are heard, they suck. It's that simple.

youthink they suck. you have to remember that other people dont share your opinion and that doesnt make them wrong

i don't remember bashing another genre of music on the board before. if you can show me, do it in private...neither of us has anything to prove to the entire board to salvage our pride

I like Audiovent's "Dirty Sexy Knights In Paris" and the only time I heard them live (on Craig Kilborn's "Late Late Show") they rocked! They have a lot of energy (no pun intended) and I like that. Just look at how Raine Maida mopes around these days. That old lady who was hit by Audiovent's tour bus has more energy than Raine on stage.

:freak:

Raine's actions on talkshow performances are entirely different from his actions on stage .. he has plenty of energy. Climbing balconies, speakers, crowd surfing, and the infamous Birdman Dance  Anybody who's been to a show recently can vouch for Raine's energy on stage .. and any energy Raine lacks, Steve certainly makes up for :D

I've heard that Raine does a lot on stage, but I have never seen it, especially recently. It probably is hard to move around a lot when you have your head lodged up Bob Rock's ass.

I dunno .. I've never noticed any lack of energy. What shows have you been to on this tour? I saw them in July and they rocked out pretty hard  You seem to have really turned against them ever since Gravity though so it seems like you're gonna have something negative to say no matter what :(
