Welcome to the www.modernrock.org Band Survivor 2002 contest.

On Day 16, the Incubus force took out JEW in an incredibly close race. Still, it's been proven that other boards can come close...and remember guys you can't vote against the band the board is devoted to (unless you are an established member of that board, like andicow is at Incubus), so don't be rude and go to the Incubus board and register to vote against Incubus, or the silverchair board to vote against silverchair. I'm adding an Our Lady Peace forum because the other one was getting under 10 votes per day...this one is much more active...thanks to history undone for that one...and with the new addition of it, and possibly the 311 main board, the contest might take a drastic turn. We'll see...

To vote, make a post with the band that you'd like ELIMINATED today, and any discussion relevant to game. Here are the bands to choose from with the number of votes they got to be ELIMINATED last round...just to give perspective for you:

Rules:

The object of this game is to determine the best band (or one with the biggest following) out of a list of 21...each day, one band gets thrown off the list until there is just one remaining champion.

You can vote here and/or the board you are reading this one. I will select 1 or 2 boards for each band with a decent posting rate, and give that board the opportunity to vote as you see here....if you choose to, you can also vote on www.modernrock.org ...so in theory you could get 2 votes.

This is obviously not strictly an advertisement since the contest is being in part held here in this thread, and there is no need to leave this board to vote...once the band this board is dedicated to is eliminated, i will no longer bug you with updates...but until that point, you can continue posting on this board...after that point, you'd have to go to one of the other boards to vote.

I can only vote in the case of a tie.

The next "Day" will be posted on Friday afternoon or so (please don't panic if i'm a bit late).

Moderators: If you don't want this game taking place at your board, then delete my post, and i won't post again. Thanks!

PS - I apologize for adding this board so late in the contest...however, there are few bands left, and the Our Lady Peace board i had before (and am still using as well) only generated about 6 votes per day...basically right now silverchair and Incubus are fighting over who gets kicked off...both have the power to put out 100 votes per "day"...but it's really close between them...if one is eliminated before Our Lady Peace, then OLP wouldn't be able to stand up to the other if i didn't add a board.

Anyway, if you guys dislike, lemme know and i won't bother you anymore.

My vote goes to Incubus.

And - to all the posters here.. here's a little word of warning.

The Incubus board has been dominating this Survivor game for a good while now, and has been picking off bands one at a time. There's a lot of people registered here - so you guys could make a difference in taking Incubus down and getting OLP the victory. If you can take down Incubus - the most active forum in this contest - I'm pretty sure you can win. All you need is a little strategy. Vote here and at www.modernrock.org - that's what the Incubus fans are doing.

I want to see OUR LADY PEACE win! We finally got the survivor game on a bigger OLP forum.. now let's have everyone rally together to get the win. Take Incubus down!

When you go to www.modernrock.org, you click register in the top right hand corner, then you go into the band survivor thread... and vote.

This contest has quite a few people interested.. so it would be cool to have OLP win

I'm voting over there, and here... and I'm hoping this forum comes alive for this contest! Did I mention that it'd be cool for OLP to win?

In that case, probably...i dumped the forum when the moderator kept threatening to delete the thread and there was virtually no response from anyone else.

The admin there liked the thread, that's the only reason it lasted as long as it did.
