I saw Century hotel last year. I didn't think much of the movie on awhole.

Honest truth, Chantal was pretty good, but Raine, keep your day job dude, that is all I will say.

if anyone saw the movie will get the above line.

WHERE CAN I SEE IT?
Death gives meaning to our lives, it gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it.

WHY?

actually it was pretty *SPECIAL*( sarcasm) this one scene with Raine.

seriously I thought it was a bite strange film. It was dark. Looks like they didn't ahve any light to work with. Also all the story lines ran together and they never really tell you what year it is.

it is suppose to be 8 stories over 100 years in the same room of the hotel. They rran everythig together so you have to guess what year it was. Plus the ending was a bit much to suspend belief on. I don't want to say anything more to give any of the movie away. I did like 2 of the stories thought. one with this japanese bride and the one withthe teenage kids.

He actually did better than I thought he would, I wasn't expecting much from Raine anyway. But have you noticed that the thing that constrains him from being a good actor that we see in other great movies is his voice, it's just too different from all the other actors. I don't know why, I couldn't stop myself laughing in his first scene, really showed that he wasn't comfortable with it.

But overall it's a solid film, everyone should watch it. How the film is done reminds me of Magnolia, only Magnolia has a thicker plot and the obsurity (is this a word?) is handled better.

I just checked their official site, it seems they tried to show what timeframe that period is by the story, but not in a very vivid way. For example Raine is starring in the 60s' portion where it there was thsi wave of rock music, drugs and sex. They tried to show a little history here, but not very vivid.

and UltraViolet, the bride was Chinese and they were speaking Cantonese in the first scene, but the actors actually couldn't speak that language so they desperately tried to imitate it.

Sorry to revive an old topic, I just watched the film a moment ago.

My local Blockbuster

I've got stupid "Can't make it good" stuck in my head now, the part where Chantal sings it was just mesmorizing. Raine's voice sound so tiny compared to her's, no wonder it's so synthesized in the recorded version.

Exactly, I was surprised at how good of an acting job Raine did. The movie overall was ok, a little dirty...but ok.

It reminds of Magnolia too. Great movie.
