Post by a_star_that_I_can_see »

It's so fucking beautiful!!

I don't know how many times I've ever said that but I really did just realize it.

Raine's voice is what attracted me to the band in the first place .. it's so original and unique  I made my friend listen to 4am one day (she doesn't like Our Lady Peace) and she said "he always sounds like he just woke up or something" and she found that annoying .. for some reason I particularly like the way he sounds singing 4am :)

'Clumsy' and 'Happiness' mostly.

His voice is just so awesome.

Oh yeah, 'Spiritual Machines' and 'Naveed' too.

Oh and 'Gravity'.

I just love his voice so much!

Yesh, it's so fucking amazing...

OMA (as you've heard) was the song that got me hooked. I heard the falsetto and IMMEDIATLY rewound the song and thought "WTF was that...?!"

I love it

Aaaah, One Man Army, Superman's Dead, Consequence of Laughing, All My Friends....

There's not much more to say about his voice except that it's so beautiful.

His voice is just so different it attracted me to the band. I mean, there's Raine and there's Rufus Wainwright. Canadians get the cool funny voices.

Yeah, Raine possesses my favorite singing voice of all time, I think, although Michael Jackson is a close 2nd. I have a fetish for falsettos, I suppose...

That's the thing about raine's voice, it's so much different from anything else out there.

My favorite Raine Voice Era was Clumsy, it's just so perfect. But that being said, all of the other albums are great too.

I still am amazed when i listen to his vocals in the choruses of Superman's Dead and OMA..... it's just so damn good it's ridiculous!

He's not very consistent live, but who fucking cares? He's amazing period.

I think Michael Stipe is amazing, though, and I've never heard him hit a wrong note, ever.

Same thing happened to me and Superman's Dead. My friend got me to download it (more as a joke than anything. he didn't actually think I'd like it) and I listened to it. At the first "Ow. A-hoo-a-hoo Ow." My ears perked up. Then when the first "Why-e-i-e-i-e" came up, I actually rewound it...

That's about his only problem, he doesn't sing perfectly live. I don't know why, but he just uses either less or more nasal, or less or more falsetto than he should. Not that it really matters, it still sounds great. It pissed me off once when I was watching a MusiquePlus thing, and my mom walking in and said "Why do you like them? They can't even sing." Of course, my mom likes Britney Spears, so I mentioned the fact that people don't sing perfectly live without the help of voice-altering computers, such as the ones Britney uses. And with a huff (and a puff, I'll blow your house down :freak: ), my mother left the room.

You're givin Britney a lot of credit. Even with the computers she can't sing. She has the worst voice, but it's ok when you have perky tits and can shake your ass.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

how old are you, Rob? or does everyone still use the term "rewind," even if they're dealing with digital music or cd's... not tapes? or am I just so sleep deprived that this will all make sense after I take a nap? :freak:
