It sounds like they are recording new music, yes, and Raine has probably been rehearsing a bit with Chantal for their gigs. Think we'll get something from the vault soon though.

I was listening to Vault version of Not Afraid today.

Anyone else think the best part of the whole song is when Raine rambles nonsense in the 2nd verse?

It's funny because it's completely nonsensical but I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Damn. After two months of no vault, a live version of a previously released track isn't exactly what I was hoping for.

I don't think it will be the live version...probably it will be the demo that we can hear in the video (and then the demo that we already have)

Ah, the vid I clicked early was just a live version of Birdman so I thought that was gonna be the release. Guess this is better, even though it's been out for years. Higher quality wouldn't be bad I suppose.

Just got Nobody's Wrong in my inbox, and yes, it's the one we've already heard (and I'm not enough of an audiophile to tell if the quality is much improved, but it sounds good to me).

It's a nice upgrade. It seems like the tracks Raine are encoding are at a higher bitrate. I figured Duncan and Steve would be as much of audiophiles as Raine, so it's surprising they are encoding lower.

Really hoping for something new with the next release. Still haven't gotten a completely new track outside of the Healthy sessions, besides the Say demo.

OLP asked what people want from the vault on facebook yesterday. A LOT of people are asking for their Cover of Drive.... which is solid, but I already have access to a decent quality release of. Hopefully well get something a little more authentic.

We have a great live version from the band, why would we want another cover?
I don't understand people who love a band and want to hear them do covers of another band.

Let's have a NEW song that we don't know or have. Not covers. No demos.

Do we know if a studio recording of drive exists? I always just assumed it was a cover they'd been performing on the gravity tour.

Not sure that they ever did studio versions of most of their live covers. They may have recorded them live at different points along the way, but I'm doubtful of studio versions. Don't leave me waiting for that next release.

I could see them running through a cover live in studio just for fun or to test the setup, but I would bet the only ones carefully tracked out and properly recorded would be the ones that have been properly released.
