Hopefully we get something good like Grocery List or The Wolf or Warnings.

I wonder if we'll get Grocery list from the vault. The band said it wasn't finished or ready for Curve. Then Duncan said in an interview afterwards that they'd be working on it for the next album (which in no way confirms that it will make the final cut). Then I thought they talked about it AGAIN after opening the Vault, and it was somehow in question? Hard to recall where I got this last idea from

Since the band seems to be taking a different direction than releasing CD's, I wonder if they'll release some sort of online compilation via iTunes or something. While I love me some free music, I have to wonder how long the band will do the vault in favor of something that can pay the bills. Have any of you heard anything about new material since we got WTB?

Yeah Grocery List is highly questionable. When they released the Say demo, they said Grocery List and I THINK Body into Soul might make their way into OLP9 sessions.
The Wolf at some point would be cool I guess (although I love FITHH). I just hope it's not the next release, and the same goes for Warnings. After a month of no releases and our most recent song being a demo of a previously released song, I'm hoping for something we don't already have a studio version of.

I didn't realize we had a longer version of Warnings until you said this. I'd only hear the few-second demo. Found another this morning that appears to be the first verse and chorus. Do we have an even more complete version floating around somewhere?

You're talking about the 1:20 version they released to twitter winners? That's the only version out there... as far as I know. I forgot how much I dig that song. Fun fact: if you click my signature picture, it brings you to the original download page. Ha. I think Warnings would be my favorite release thus far if it was released next.
I would absolutely love to get The Wolf, but I don't expect it. Something about that chorus I just love.
I dunno if I would want Grocery released thru the vault or on the next album... whichever is gonna do it the most justice.

Yes, that one. Just heard it for the first time. Curve B sides seem so strong. I remember one named "tiny mics". It was an ambiance thing, but sounded so cool. Do you know if that ever made it into one of their songs?
I do wonder where the band is headed with OLP#9. Hearing who was producing it, followed by WBD turned me off. But then I heard Matter of Time it really peeked my interest for where the band might have gone with the more dancy/rhythm sound. They seem to be trying to find the right method and timing to push forward with a new medium or release style, but it feels like they don't actually know what that is at this time. I wonder how well it would do if they pulled a radiohead and just put their music on their website with a donate-what-you-want dollar tag. I imagine most bands typically get pennies on the dollar for CD purchases, where as, if they do this sales method, if 9 of 10 people download the songs for free, but 1 of 10 people who are passionate about the band buys it for $20, they've already made huge profits on what they would have made if all 10 people purchased a CD that was manufactured by the fat-cat record companies.

Pay what you want was a huge failure. Saul Williams did the same thing and it was a huge disappointment. Great idea for fans, but not viable for artists.

That's a disappointment. I guess I was hoping it would work out in favor of the band, but when I look at it through my pessimistic lenses, it does make sense that it wouldn't.

Also i'm dying to hear Warnings...it seems such a great song from the demo that we have...

It can work, but isn't a guarantee. Radiohead is in a pretty good position. They have a such a very large and dedicated fanbase that pay-what-you-want works just fine. Alternatively, they could probably come out with a download-only album with a ridiculously high fixed price, like $75, and still sell loads of copies. On the other hand, there's artists like Amanda Palmer who, despite having a much smaller fanbase (I think?), has made it work incredibly well because she puts a lot of thought and a LOT of effort into marketing herself and connecting with fans.

Interesting. So it turn out Hurt Yourself was completely unknown while we've already seen the title for this one.

Ah, looks like we got some false intel on Save Yourself turning into Hurt Yourself lol.
Really enjoying this one. Has a very warm feel to it, and that falsetto part really caught me off guard. Can definitely see this being an influential track in the eary sessions.

Re: OLP says "f you retail, we got black monday instead!"
I think someone suggested they were the same due to the similar titles. Both songs were on the list in the 2004 holiday greeting video, but Hurt Yourself was called End of the World at that time.
This song is interesting to me. There are some slight lyrical similarities, but nothing too significant, to several other songs from this time. And, some of the music sounded very familiar to me but I couldn't place it. I'll need to listen again.

So as for "something a bit different", would this be grouped as post gravity sessions along with Not Afraid, or all grouped with the HIPT sessions?
Re: OLP says "f you retail, we got black monday instead!"
I like it.. But I need to listen the song again.. I'm also waiting for the lyrics that help me a lot :-)

The lyrics are something like this:
Down on your luck and you feel like your boat is sinking
The look in your eyes makes me think that you've lost control
You pull out a gun and confess that you're tired of thinking
Arms at your side when you smile and you say hello
It's nice to meet you
We've all been there
Life's not easy
Please take care
When you fall down
When you lose
Go and save yourself
Go and save yourself
When the world weighs down on you
Go and save yourself
Go and save yourself
Shoulders that bend and they break and they buckle [?]
Oh, the bone's not designed to carry the weight of the world
Get back on your feet, back on track, back to the beginning
Put down the gun, it'll work out for you
It's nice to meet you
We've all been there
Life's not easy
Please take care
When you fall down
When you lose
Go and save yourself
Go and save your, save yourself
When the world weighs down on you
Go and save yourself
Go and save your, save your, save yourself
Save yourself
Save your, save your
Down on your luck and you feel like your boat is sinking
The look in your eyes makes me think that you've lost control
You pull out a gun and confess that you're tired of thinking
Arms at your side when you smile and you say hello
It's nice to meet you
