Well that was my impression...the early versions of "I just wanted you to know" were without falsetto if i'm not wrong...however i really love this song!xjsb125 wrote:I don't think the song is from a concert, despite the "crowd" noise. Raine sings the "I just wanted you to know" part in falsetto in the two times I've seen it in person, and the few other times I've seen live videos. Sounds like a dolled up rehearsal or studio recording. Of course I could be totally wrong. If it was from a show, Robin's keys are mixed in really well. They are definitely not that clear I in the PA mix at the shows I've been to.

I don't know, it sounds like this one to me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=he9IJzMv7pU
But some stuff was definitely added in production.

Major disappointment for the final release of the year. Bad pop song is covered by OLP, but then if they DIDN'T release this now, they probably wouldn't have. Throw away pop songs like this don't have legs and as far as I can tell it's already off the charts which will make it "mad old yo" as the kids say.
This wasn't even hard to come by before this cleaned up version. Seriously guys, you've been talking about a b-side album and getting us excited since like 98/99. An unfinished track/riff demo from 95 would be more exciting than this. Lets hope this is all we get and we don't have to suffer another release being a cover of another flavour of the month. (Remember that MGMT trash they covered?)

Wow...... you do realise that they don't owe you anything, right? I honestly wish they could ban you from any further releases. Eh, I can't say I have any interest in Lana Del Rey and wasn't particularly interested to learn OLP was covering her. I was hoping for something... with more significance to the fans... as the Christmas gift. But it should be very easy for anyone to understand that this release is in addition to -- not instead of -- any other songs that they may release through Transparent Humans. So, it's really no big deal. Whatever.

I didn't like the cover, but meh. Gibbits is just an asshole.

No new song this week I guess? So far it's been every second Thursday.
Re: OLP says "f you retail, we got black monday instead!"
This is late but I really enjoyed the Summertime Sadness cover. The band is just so damn good live these days and it's awesome to hear high quality versions of things I may never get to hear in person.
As far as the next track is concerned, they asked on Facebook what they should do next. Could be looking at Happiness track next, but who knows? Everything has been a CURVE-ball. Dang, I'm funny.

Yeah Happiness seems to be the most in demand on there, followed by Gravity.titanMAX wrote:This is late but I really enjoyed the Summertime Sadness cover. The band is just so damn good live these days and it's awesome to hear high quality versions of things I may never get to hear in person.

Based on their Facebook, I'm guessing we get one today or tomorrow.

Whoever runs the page commented and said to expect it tomorrow or Wednesday.Driven wrote:Based on their Facebook, I'm guessing we get one today or tomorrow.
They said fan requests made the song choice easy, so my guess based on that status from the other day is something from the Happiness sessions or Vampires since it's the song that gets brought up the most by name.
Pumped for Vampires but hoping for something a little different this time since both of the original songs so far have been from early Healthy sessions.

I thought Yourself was from the Clumsy sessions.OLPManiac wrote: I guess (and hope) that will be something from Happiness...there are Ordinary and Yourself...but maybe there are also songs that we don't know
But in addition to Ordinary, there's Sleeping In.
Re: OLP says "f you retail, we got black monday instead!"
I believe trapeze was recorded for both Clumsy and Happiness. So that is not off the table for this submission.

Re: OLP says "f you retail, we got black monday instead!"
Sleeping In is probably most likely for a Happiness-related release. Ordinary Day is possible too. Both songs were revisited for Spiritual Machines as well. Yourself was only played at Summersault '98 -- I've always assumed it came out of writing for Happiness, but could be a leftover from Clumsy... we don't know for sure.
Trapeze is very strongly associated with Clumsy. Wikipedia claimed Trapeze was also recorded for Happiness but didn't make the album. I had never heard that before I saw it on wikipedia. If you go and look at the source (an ourladypeace.com chat with the band), Raine says 1 song was excluded from the album but doesn't identify it as Trapeze. Seems like bad info.

I think many of us will be very happy with the next release. Check out OLP's instaGram for the clip, sounds amazing. CLUMSY ERA RECORDING!
