PEI show on Friday
Doing a big road trip for my birthday, which will involve a 23 hour trip from Charlotte, North Carolina to Charlottetown, PEI. I'm super-stoked as I've seen OLP several times, but always States-side (although I did go to Buffalo for the Clumsy/SM full CD tour) and I've always wanted to see a show in Canada.
My excitement aside, I'm can't seem to find what time OLP takes the stage on Friday. Does anyone know, or is it not decided yet? I believe I saw the festival opens at 4pm Friday, but that's all of the schedule I could find.
Also, any must-see sites on PEI?

Cavendish.. that whole area around it... Cant remember the provincial park out that way off the top of my head but I always enjoyed hitting the beach up that way as a kid. I grew up 20 mins from the ocean in Nova Scotia.. the waters warmer in PEI then it was there.
go fuck yourself.

Cool, we'll ride up and check that out. Probably try out a golf course while I'm there too.
Also, they finally posted the set time... 8pm. Metric goes on at 9:30, which makes me a little sad, was hoping for a full 1.5 hour set at least. Still stoked for my 10th time seeing OLP!

I'm actually in Wilmington NC now, so tack on another 3 to 4 hours lol. My friend lives in Charlotte and we're leaving from his place. My brother lives in Cleveland TN though, I've definitely passed Dandridge on my way to visit him.
It's going to be such a long car ride to PEI...

Love the Outer Banks. We stayed on Cape Hatteras a few years ago. Definitely want to go back. Have a safe trip!

Thanks! Just checked the weather, 80% chance or rain
I'm assuming the stages are outside, I really hope they don't cancel...

Didja end up going?
What are OLP playing these days? I'm seeing them Monday. I should probably buy Curve or something...

Festival show will likely be hits and some stuff off Curve. They have been known to throw some surprises though. Curve is worth the money. Pretty solid all the way through, they put a lot of quality time into it. Have fun and share the setlist with us after the show. Good to see you on here!

Yeah, it's been awhile, huh?
I started working in Television recently so I'm on the clock 12-14 hour days, and before that was a graduate program. Not a lot of time for CM-ing.
Remember when I used to post here as a 13-year-old with too much time on her hands? Those were the days...

Re: PEI show on Friday
The show was really good! As expected, they played mostly hits, but they did sneak in Paper Moon. Here's the setlist I remember, probably slightly out of order:
Rabbits (Opener)
Allowance
Superman's Dead
Innocent
One Man Army
Heavyweight
Monkey Brains
In Repair
Paper Moon
Is Anybody Home?
Clumsy
4am
Starseed
A few things stood out: Comparing to the US shows I've attended, I was really glad to see two songs from Happiness, since they often avoid that album in the lower US. I was surprised they opened with Rabbits, but it sounded amazing! Definitely a live favorite for me now. Also, Raine really freaked the fuck out in Paper Moon, right at the second verse where "You sell your clothes, you sell your car..." He was basically yelling, then screaming, and dropping an F-bomb... which really gave the song some aggression and despair. I thought it was awesome, but makes me wonder if those lyrics really registered with him recently. Lastly, the rain held off for the most part until the very beginning of 4am, when it started coming down pretty steady and rained through Starseed. Rain + 4am + Starseed intro = Spiritual!

Sweet! Great find... I think I may have been behind this guy, and if so, he filmed a lot. Also, looks like Raine almost fell... didn't notice that at the show lol

Re: PEI show on Friday
I would imagine he almost slipped - it was so rainy out. It was right after he did that verse in paper moon. It was a pretty great show despite the weather. I had my bf do the taping since there's NO way I could control a camera at an OLP concert - here's a bit of 4am that he caught for me.
Hands down my favorite moment

I also felt bad for security - they were supposed to block all of our cameras and some people were being pretty rude about it. I saw him singing along - so I taped him, shook his hand and he actually didn't stand in our way afterwards

Memories, I'd cash them in for peace of mind and some discipline
