20 Year Mix

Well... i've got 7 hours left in the office and bored out of my mind, so i figured i'd take a break to liven this place up again.

Met a new (lady) friend (rawr), and she's a music nut... so obviously I tell her OLP is my favorite band, and that leads to me making her a mixed disk. 2 songs from each studio album, 1-8, for 16 total tracks. I figure we could all post our ideal mixed disks... its really hard... as there are so many good options.

Most the albums I really struggled with. Once I hit Gravity through BB, it became easy, as there really only 2 songs on each of those albums that spoke to me, but then when I got to curve, I had trouble picking just two songs to again... which to me is an awesome example of the album's integrity.

*I had to edit the mp3 and cut out the rest of the track after the song stops due to file size and breaking the flow of the mix. Maybe coulda put it last, but didn't want to break chronology. It's my favorite song, by any muscian, ever, so, it had to stay on the mix.

If this is it almost made my cut... but rabbits is, for me, the best song on the album... i also considered someday change... even FITHH was tempting... but i felt like heavyweight has a little bit more of the old olp nostalgia.

Like i said, curve was much harder to pic just 2 songs from... god, can't wait until they start leaking some of #9

Damn! Pick the best OLP's songs is really hard...in fact i have with me on my car an AUX cable that allows me to link my phone...however also i will try to made one!

Is hard to find the best songs in the first four album (particularly on Spiritual! Damn what a record!) and a little bit also in Curve...i think however that Rabbits is one of the best songs that OLP ever made...also respect the first four! Also Burn Burn is hard...i like a lot of songs like Dreamland, Monkey Brains, Refuge and the two that i pick despite Raine's voice that is "bored", Gravity and HiPT are easy..

Yeah I have a feeling picking the best from each album is harder than picking the worst. I wish I could pick some non album tracks, cause some of their live/acoustic/rarities stuff is my favorite. Anyways, I'll give it a try

Leaving off Carnival almost feels like a mortal sin, but I had to follow the rules. Curve was definitely the hardest for me to choose from, as I've not had more than a decade to ruminate on the songs. All in all though, I don't think I'll ever tire of any of those songs on my list.
