And what happened to the songs that were supposed to come out by now? Fucking Raine.

Love it.

The guitar reminds me of this just a tiny bit:

He said there's going to be a free mix tape available to download in a few days. I know a few days in Raine time is forever but you can't argue with free.

Earlier he said a mix tape at the end of May, then yesterday he said new clip today... but the mix tape should be coming pretty soon now I think.

i get the feeling from the style of "places"(and other songs from the recording of his gig at massey hall last year) that we might not hear studio versions of "not done yet" and "s.o.s".

I hope for both. I really like S.O.S. I think the studio version would fit with the album and I remember Raine saying in tweets and somewhere else that Not Done Yet was one of his favorites.

Also, I thought Raine said the final product would be a box set. I'm guessing that since he's had so much time and has written so many songs that it would be tough to choose 10 or 11 tracks!

To be fair, Earthless and China Doll were very unlike the other songs on his previous record, but very beautiful. Raine has showed some incredible talent for writing awesome ballads recently, and I expect we'll see a couple of them (thinking of Not Done Yet specifically).
And I agree with bree, I also think a studio version of SOS will fit into everything else that we've heard. Of course we've been hearing these songs for a couple years now, and with Raine's writing/recording process it's possible that some of these songs have been drastically changed, or dropped completely from being released. Either way, love the tone in the new clip, very cool vibe, and I hope we hear some more like that!

I was really hoping for Itchy. I loved that song but that was in the video for the busking, so... October 2010. I can't believe it's been that long. Who knows if it was even a complete song. It could be one of those things like The More I Learn where he was like that's all I have for now and then we never heard it again.

The song is pretty cool. It seems like it gets better as it goes on. Can't wait for the mix tape. I ran across "Not done yet" on youtube a couple weeks ago. Real great song, hopefully it makes the cut.
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.

Just checked out the two clips. Can't wait for this. They both have really different sounds and appear to have kinda unpredictable structures. Good stuff.

I also am really enjoying it...is it just me, or does this stuff sound much more out there than Hunter's Lullaby?

I really enjoy what I'm hearing so far. It definitely does sound more out there than Hunter's Lullaby (although that album also went all over the place). I love the eery sounds and sights of "Sleep". :D
