It's interesting to see that if we talk of Chris Benoit the people knew the band:
http://www.wrestlingitalia.it/2012/04/1 ... is-benoit/
It is an article that talks about Whatever....in years i never saw more than 3 articles on OLP here in Italy...but when we talk of Benoit we have a news!
Shit is sad that band is known for this things and not for the music!

Steve and Raine are currently on CFOX radio in Vancouver, doing a live interview and performance. So far it's the usuall interview stuff, plus acoustic performances of Allowance and......Window Seat!! Not my favorite song, and this version of it I thought was particularly poor. They are in commercial right now, so more interview and performance after the break I assume. I am attempting to capture the audio stream, and can possibly share it later. They are also broadcasting live video, on cfox.com, but I don't have any video capturing software. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up :)

Second half of the interview consisted of talking a bit about George Chuvalo and acoustic performance of Clumsy. Pretty good interview overall, with the usual talk about how Jason changed the direction of the album, and how they've been growing to get to this point artistically. Very surprised to hear Window Seat, which I haven't heard played acoustically yet, instead of Heavyweight, which they did not play at all. As for the performances, I've heard MUCH better from them in other acoustic radio formats. Forgot to mention in the previous post, Robin is also there on keyboards, but no Duncan or Jeremy.

I'm really liking that Clumsy performance, the chorus is a bit iffy here and there, but I do like what I am hearing! I also finally made it down to the mall and got my physical copy of Curve now that I had the money to do it.

It seems that Raine and Steve are performing Allowance and Clumsy acoustic for the radio.

Congrats. It is a week later and Best Buy( at least the two I went into just to see) here in NYC does not have CURVE. Does not even have a spot for any OLP cd.. I am almost tempted to go to the CHAIN STORES and see if they carry it. Kills me that NYC is a huge market yet you can never find OLP cd's here. At least Virgin and HMV had them sometimes. Both are closed . Not any real stores left anymore. Some ma and pa stores but the only place to get cd's now is Best Buy, Target or Starbucks.

OLP should of released it to Starbucks. It would of sold. I bought my Springsteen, Len Cohen, Dylan Tribute cd'sa t Starbucks. Not a bad price either.

Did they even chart in the US? I haven't heard of any billboard news. They are on Verve Pipe or Sponge levels of popularity here now. Kinda brings me down. :(

I think they were at #185 on the Top 200 BillBoard Chart last week. They're not on the charts this week, though. :( Things should pick up once "As Fast As You Can" gets more promotion and maybe comes out with a music vid but at this point, I think OLP is on par with indie artists in terms of hardcore promotion. A bigger tour would help too, I think.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along

We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

not bad considering heavyweight wasn't even released as a single in the USA - as fast will be the first true single released in the USA and I think it should do pretty well. Couple that with a bigger tour in the fall/end of summer and things should pick up charting wise :)

Even from an objective point of view, I have to agree with TW. As Fast As You Can is a pretty well-written song and could easily be the best single material OLP has had since Gravity. Obviously, things are going to be slow starting because OLP has been away from the scene for so long and they don't have a huge label backing them anymore. I think over time, though, people will hear these guys a few times and start to the think "Hey, OLP is back" :) .
