Very glad OLP announced a show for Regina...
Except that they announced the show via Facebook the day the tickets went on sale and it sold out immediately. Should give lead time so people actually have a chance to buy them, instead of having ticket-hub have outrageous scalped prices.

Whilst I'm a fan, I'm also a work-a-holic and professional when I work for bands.
Just saying!
All ready met the Merch Bitch as you said.. The girl working Matt Good merch said she would be back for OLP. She was the one who remembered me from two years ago. I thought Rich did merch unless she meant in Canada cause there was a girl working that one.
Faninor are you going to LA show?
Trusty is there a reason they are only doing 1 East Coast date this time around. I know short tour but seems West Coast gets dates added while there was only 1 date( NYC). Buffalo is not really East Coast.. Is it cause they were unable to get venues they wanted or scheduling. Just curious.

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
whoa whoa lets get away from the use of "merch bitch" ok? heh
yeah, I handle merch now and again if need be, but filming and other shit is next to impossible if i have to deal with that too.
The girl Gail is speaking of was out with us for the "an evening with" tour as well - she is awesome, is a merch ninja and very good friend of everyone - so be nice, polite and make sure have your firstfulls of money/ credit cards ready when you are at the table in line to buy some of this super nice new merch ....OR ELSE! grrrr
Riley - some shows are announced when the tickets become available - that show was last minute add so as soon as it was confirmed you could buy the ticks and it was announced - not a new concept at all. Gotta pay close attention to the FB and site!

Sure, but what's the point of pre-sale emails when they actually get sent after the show is on sale and sold out? People like me (and everyone else here) pay thousands of dollars to attend shows and get all the merch and the bonus stuff, but in the end bulk-buyers get first dibs and then scalp the tickets. Would it kill to actually have pre-sales that reward fans for being fans?
I pay attention to the FB page and to my emails, but there was no lead time on this show.

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
Ouch, sorry you missed the sale!
IMO sudden announcements actually make it more "luck of the draw" so fans have a fighting chance if they happen to be on twitter/facebook when the show is announced and goes on sale, vs early announcements means that the scalpers have more time to prep, time to sign up to the mailing list, and know what time to come around to snatch up tickets. Sure, it gives fans that extra time to prep as well, but I think the real fans are checking in on facebook and twitter more frequently than scalpers. In either case some fans will get shut out or miss the chance to get tickets, and that sucks either way.
I really like what Radiohead does with presales -- generally, they announce their tour dates in advance and tell you what date the presale starts, but won't say what time. The more obsessive fans end up with the best chance of getting good tickets, because they will stick around and refresh the presale site for hours and hours waiting for the sale to start. More recently they've done some shows going on sale with very little or no advance notice too.
I'd hate for something like that to happen while I'm not there to catch it, but I'm sure this announcement caught scalpers off guard even more than fans, and if there's still a bunch of tickets turning up on resale sites then I'd wonder if the concert promoter, venue, or someone along the line might have been involved with some shady business from the start.
Absolutely it sucks though, I know you have personally had shit luck the past couple years when it comes to OLP concerts. Maybe they will come back through and play a bigger venue later though?

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
regina wasn't part of the pre sale - it was an add on date because people wanted it and asked for it - Sometimes when a show gets added there is no lead up or warning - it gets booked, ticks go on sale, we let you know and you either get them or you don't - But as I have come to realize, no matter happens you will always find something to complain about though
As for the whole "i spend 1000's of dollars" argument - that is so 2010 of you riley, please just get over it - you missed the tickets, that is all that happened - Thousands of other people bought tickets via the presale without issue and hundreds bought regina ticks without a hitch too - sold out in no time!
I understand you might be upset that you missed out but hey that's the nature of the beast - gotta jump on that shit when you hear it!! - these venues are tiny so they will no doubt sell out quickly, everyone pretty much knows that by now.
but dont worry im sure OLP will be back around your neck of the woods in no time! i will even let you know personally if there is another regina show on the calendar as soon as i see it
So how about that?!

Jessica... She is really nice. She was the one that said Hello Gail to me then said I met you on OLP tour 2 years ago. I asked her will she be on this tour. Said yes.

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
Regarding the Regina show - it was announced on Thursday, at about 10am on The Wolf. Advertising went up on the radio website and the venue's website that same day. The presale ran Thursday, with tickets on sale to the general public Friday. The Wolf was hyping up a concert announcement about a big band in a small venue all morning before the announcement, and throughout the day as well. I thought they did a pretty good job getting the word out in the time they had. Yes, it's not ideal for tickets to go on sale the same day a concert is announced...but in my view, they handled it pretty well. I managed to get 2 tickets at 10pm on the day of the presale.
But yes, I completely understand that it does suck that it wasn't announced earlier. And I am sorry you didn't manage to get tickets. Hopefully you can manage to find someone that's getting rid of theirs because they have to, and not wanting to make a huge profit from them.
I'm a bit confused by the mention of bulk end sellers. Any tickets bought over the internet for the Regina show were through ticketedge.ca, and they issue electronic tickets that you print off and bring to the venue, and they apparently cross reference your name with a list of buyers when you get there and present your ID and credit card. Would that not deter resellers who buy the tickets in bulk to sell at profit? I'm not entirely sure how it works, as I've never had to deal with tickets that way. But that also makes me wonder what happens if you DO have to sell your tickets for a legit reason, or bought them as a gift for a friend. Will that be an issue once you get to the venue? I haven't dealt with the electronic ticket thing before.

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
Hmm, I didn't even check what the case was with resellers, but I know some of the other shows this tour had a lot of scalpers grab tickets and RileyLewis mentioned it. It sounds like maybe the Regina show has things down, but it can vary a lot depending on the venue and the ticketing agency.
I've dealt with electronic tickets a few times before and sometimes they check the name, sometimes they don't even if they said they would at the time of purchase. I've seen some where you can give a different name at the time of purchase (in case you're buying them as a gift). Sometimes you can call the ticketing agency and change the name if you need to sell or give away your tickets, but I think that's mostly been stopped since scalpers take advantage of it. When the ticketing agencies are doing electronic tickets and name verification, since this usually happens with in demand events that will have no problem selling out, they ought to just let people who find out they won't be able to attend cancel their purchases (as long as it's done a reasonable amount of time in advance).

Re: OLP Urban Grind Tour (2012)
There were tickets available on tickethub for the show on Friday, I haven't checked since then, they might be all sold too. Not sure how it works, I've heard of scalpers selling tickets for things like this and then when you get there the people who bought them can't get in since it's tied to the buyer, and there is no recourse since it was scalped.

Why won't Atlanta magically appear each time I check the updates?

I'd settle for Atlanta.
