Ordered my copy today... does anyone know how we're supposed to obtain this "instant gratification" copy of heavyweight?

Bummer. I'll have to call their support. I already own the song, but I wouldn't mind a second copy so I can give it to a friend without feeling guilty

It takes a day for it to process and then you get it in an email. I ordered mine over the weekend and got the email Monday afternoon.

While we have no way of knowing if this is a good or bad thing, I was pretty happy with the version they were playing live. I hope they don't zap the energy out of it.

Maybe! or maybe they changed the chorus back to "Don't leave me waiting, the wolf is already at my door. He's run out of patience. I gave him my blood but he wants more"

How is this new album stacking up?
-Sarah

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

From the sounds of things, compared to Burn Burn, phenomenal.

I would love The Wolf lyrics changed back to the 'blood' lyrics. Something about it.

I also loved the blood lyrics. I hope they don't sap the energy, it was a strong song. That's the downside to the recording style they use, in that they have songs sitting for so long that they get the urge to redo them. That's not a critique, but it can lead to over-thinking things.

Agreed. Gravity was the start of the "hey, maybe were over thinking this" mentality. I think over evaluation is far better than 10 songs in one take.

I agree also...but i think that Burn Burn is an excess of over-thinking....we have song like Dreamland or White Flags or AYD that live they show a good potential(especially White Flags) and then the over thinking process slows the song and the results wasn't good!
The Wolf it's ok in the live version...but if the guys make it better it's good...i'm afraid that the potential of the song will be lost! I wish not! There is a positive note...Curve is really near at the completion...we only need to wait! :D

I guess it is, in the same way that trading in cards for horses would be a throwback to the good old days of the 19th century. Music has evolved as the medium has. Bands are no longer limited by record length or speed, and they've expanded the amount of music expected as a standard. I think it's hard to argue that Naveed would have been better as a 3.5 minute song, or that Spiritual Machines would have been stronger by removing a few songs like In Repair or If You Believe.

Better to include more solid songs than to cherry pick and leave people disappointed in the length and quantity. It's not all about quality, as then we'd be fine with paying $20 for 1 song as the standard.

And it wouldn't be as big of a deal if OLP would just drop their weird act and release unreleased tracks.

The fact of the matter is it is a throw back, it goes back to the time of listening to 5 songs and flipping the album over, to listen to the other 5 - you know actually listening and putting the music into a format that is long enough to be appreicated but not too long so you get distracted. These days people buy one song off itunes and put it on repeat OR they buy the album and put it on shuffle - this is about listening to it front to back and being able to do so in a time frame that you can appreciate it and "get" what the band was trying to create...this is not new, in fact its something that has been lost in todays music.

Now, if you never got to experience that and are just a listener from the digital age so be it, but man o man why you will always try and jam your 2c regardless of facts is beyond me.

p.s - If you are going to be disapointed that a band you like is *only* going to release 35-40 mins of music they love and want you to hear, well then you need to re-examine the role that band plays in your life. Don't forget songs are unreleased for all sorts of reasons, just because you want to hear them doesn't mean you necessarily will...I don't think that is weird, it's like a painter creating a piece they don't want anyone to see for whatever reason - it's art, their art, and as the creator of it they can do whatever they want with it :)
