Would someone mind sharing the presale password for Chicago with me? I wasn't sure if I wanted to go or not but I just saw that they're playing a small venue and now I really want to go.

I saw that-ridiculous. Tickets gone before the public sale.

what is stubhub some greasy scalper type shit?

That is kinda lame if so - what a shame, not cool when real fans cant buy ticks because someone else is hoarding the mother load.

Its disgusting, there is a ticket for the Toronto show (1 only) for $138.00 !!!!
Im actually a fan of "fan based resale" ticket sites, but not at these prices. Those prices are purely about profit, when I resale I cover the cost of the ticket, any postage I paid and the credit card charge if there was one.

I must be a rare breed!

138 bucks? wow that's insane.

not cool about NYC either 200 ticks on scalper site for a venue of 500? that's seems odd, anyone got some proof of that? That might be something worth passing around....at those prices i am sure some seats wont be filled which is not cool.

OLP on StubHub

This is really unfortunate...

Yup, and it looks like NYC is down to about 150 tix on stubhub, it was def higher around noon time. Whats disgusting is that there's a guy on there selling 24 tickets himself!! listed at 165 a piece. A good way to avoid stuff like this, and for the actual fans to get a shot at presale, is to have individual presale codes usable only once sent to everyone on the mailing list. Just a suggestion for the future.

I got two for NYC at 56 a piece - there were 4 at 50, 2 at 56, 2 at 60something, and then the rest were around 100+.

And at 12:30 there were I thought 156 tickets left? So the # is going down slowly but surely.

Sadly that's supply & demand. A lot of time a certain percentage of tickets go directly to secondary markets, brokers, scalpers, whatever you want to call them, and aren't in the main sale at all.

I have mixed feelings about it. Being here in southern California. Stuff sells out instantly all the time. I mean instantly. You refresh the page every few seconds, get the captcha right on the first try, everything seems to be going smoothly but then no tickets are left because you refreshed the page 2 seconds some 1000 lucky people.

Thankfully not OLP as they aren't popular here. But in other cases, everything gets snatched up right away... if someone else offers up tickets for a fair price, those will just get snatched right up too... so, at least there's another chance if I want to see the show that badly and can afford the markup. But a lot of time that money's just going to some jerk.

The best way to fight it would be paperless ticketing w/ID verification, and perhaps some VIP tickets with special perks if you want to cater to the folks with deeper pockets who either missed their chance on the regular sale or just really really want whatever the special perks are. And a week or so before the show, close the sales for the VIP tix and move the remainder of that allotment into the general sale. No empty seats.

The presale codes were sent to people ONLY on the mailing list - but people shared those codes all over the net, and you can't stop that from happening.

As for sending out individual codes to everyone on the mailing list - well that's just not technically feasible using the system in place. but is deff something to consider inthe future.

There will be more shows and more touring this year and since these venues are so small tickets blew out really fast.

Does ticket master also put a limit on how many tickets you can buy in one transaction?
They did in Oz for the ACDC and Foo Fighter shows in the past (Australia) which cut this sort of shenanigans out by a lot! :)

On another note, Rich is right: more touring to come so I'm not worried about not seeing them at some point! And then it shall be beer's all round! HAHA!

Almost all shows done through Ticketmaster have a limit of 8 tickets... though lower limits like 4 or 2 are common too. Not just per transaction, but per shipping address and they cancel orders when people overbuy.

Shows where you get your ticket and immediately enter is the way to go to cut off scalping. I remember that's how it was for NIN's Wave Goodbye and NINJA tours. You bought your ticket online, when you got to the venue showed your ID and credit card, then got your ticket and proceeded directly in. I felt lucky to have gotten the ticket for Toronto now. Whew.
