I don't usually like to start new threads, but I think with the single officially out now, we should have a new place just for discussion of heavyweight, and keep other album related discussion in the other thread. So everyone, after listening to the song non-stop for a day, what are your thoughts??
I'm the man who discover the leak some weeks ago...i overplayed the song in this months and i can tell one thing: IT'S AMAZING!
Also i think that Steve in this album give to the OLP's sound a great imprint....in the song i really love the violin in the second verse...it's really sick!!!
Shit i need to buy the song but i don't know how!!!! I think that i must wait the 3rd January...on iTunes IT there isn't trace of the song!!
Like OLPManiac, I also heard the leak several weeks ago and have been overplaying it since then. My excitement for it has kinda stagnated now, but I do recall being extremely taken aback at how much better it was than the last several singles. The verses are absolutely amazing.
I don't know for Heavy Alibi, but for me there aren't big difference!! The audio is almost the same....but i hear difference in the Amazon version...their clip it's a little bit clean of my rip!!
1170 viewers!! In 9 Hours!! I think that is disappointed that on Amazon the song will be only on 3rd January because some people tell that they'll wait this 2 weeks for buying the song...however there are yet 64 comments on the song! Good OLP!!!
Hmm, it could be "this sermon." I think that's more likely than "the servant grinds" which is what I originally heard. But the video does show "this urban."

Really like this song so far. I wouldn't say the chorus is bad, but it's not as strong at the rest. If I were in charge of making a radio edit, I'd hack out the first chorus and go directly from "I've gotta stop, drop, roll" then into the 2nd verse. And maybe just slightly shorten the intro. There's some neat stuff going on with the arrangement throughout, but some people won't pay so much attention to that.

Ive been over playing the hell out of this song for a while now and havent got bored of it yet, still love it. Favourit verse is "the sun the sky the they fall apart, come tumbing down just like a house of cards".

It's also my favourite quotes!!! These are amazing words...Raine it's amazing!!!!
The leaked version was probably a 6.5 for me (out of 10), but with the better quality of the official version you can hear a few cool things, so I'd bump that up to 7, I think. Definitely better than any single since Gravity, through I'd hesitate to put it in the same league as any single from the first 4 albums.
It's a decent mainstream song, but it also kind of feels like they are trying to capture their old sound within the forced constrains of mainstream rock/pop.
