Lyrics:

Looking for a sign that I can’t see
The good, the bad, is somewhere in between

These warning signs and the servant grinds me down

The kids are building fires by their homes
The smoke is sending signals out in code
Yeah

These safety suits and these parachutes, I don't know

I’m gonna stop, drop, roll

When all of these walls come down
They'll shake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless

Oh, When all these stars hit ground
They’ll wake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless

Choking on the words that I can’t say
My lungs are full but everything’s misplaced

These junkyard dogs and these cherry bombs, go off

The sun, the sky, the moon will fall apart
Come tumbling down just like a house of cards

These fire escapes and this lush landscape, It fades.

When all of these walls come down
They'll shake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless

Oh, When all these stars hit ground
They’ll wake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless
Be weightless

I can feel this heavyweight hanging around my neck
I can feel your heartbeat bringing me back, back, again.

When all of these walls come down
They'll shake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless

Oh, When all these stars hit ground
They’ll wake us
We fight not to be, not to be weightless
Be weightless, be weightless…

I usually don't buy singles, but damn, the band gave me something I wanna support this time around. Hats off to them, its a great song. Hopefully it'll stand the test of time though, and I'll still enjoy it months from now.

Also, the little acoustic scene change works MUCH better in this track than it did in Monkey Brains.

Checked both US and Canadian iTunes. It hasn't charted on anything in the US, but is shown on the list on New & Noteworthy on the Alternative page. For Canadian, it isn't in the main Top 200 for iTunes, but is 74th on the Alternative chart.

It's literally been out for an hour, I wouldn't expect that for most musicians.

Only disappointment from me is that the music video doesn't feature the actual band itself... this is the first single that doesn't (except In Repair?).

Or maybe this isn't the official music video? Trustyyy? :)

Definitely not an official video. Its just a lyric video.

Yep, you're right, I just saw the link about it on their Facebook wall.

I think this is just brilliant! A few thoughts:
1. I was a bit afraid they would go to the boring, standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-chorus, and in a way they have, but the transitions between them is what makes this song special and different to me.
2. Raine's voice has never sounded better. You can really hear the full range of his talents here. He's got his usual chorus yell, his newer, deeper style that is so prominent on his solo stuff, and of course some sweet falsetto
3. I know it's been said before, but I really feel like Steve has finally come into his own with this song/record. I've always thought with the singles that you couldn't hear enough of his personal style, but it's on full display here. Of course, Steve's influence on the band is another discussion :P

And yes, I got chills a couple times on the first listen, way to go guys!

Yeah, I've yet to see any negative feedback... (i'm sure there is some, but its gotta be few and far between).

The youtube recording sounds a lot better than the cm exclusive rip. There's even more going on in this song than I originally gave it credit for...

Is it true itunes doesn't use mp3 format for the music you purchase from them? I hear they use some format that only works with itunes... which, if thats the case, it looks like i'm waiting until 1/3/12 to get my copy through amazon.

It's true, music from iTunes isn't in MP3. They use AAC formatted .M4A files, which work in a lot of other music programs and some non-apple portable players, but not as widely supported as MP3.

The verses are seriously awesome. They've had a collection of good songs from the last three albums, but in my opinion, nothing has sounded this interesting.

With some careful listening/reading, I think the 3rd line is actually:

These warning signs and this urban grinds me down

And junkyard dogs... makes so much more sense than Tokyo doves!

Glad they changed that.

If this song were played at Hogworts, I'd have a wand sticking out in my dress robes. Truely great song, it just feels different from anything they've done, and not the crappy, "This...doesn't sound like them." but more of, the change from straight forward Naveed to sounding like Happiness different.

@Trusty, what do you think about the band maybe accompanying guitar tabs or something with some songs so we know how to play them. Most of the online crap is crap. I think that would be an ultimate fan thing. I have no complaints on anything what so ever though. Keep up the fantastic work! (Hands you dandelion, looks at ground while kicking a pebble)
