I don't see why it wouldn't be. None of the singles from Burn Burn had falsetto, but from what Raine says this first one from Album 8 is going to have a lot. I think they're really determined to make Album 8 stand out as unique and creative, singles included.
While Burn Burn singles didn't really represent the album, or atleast having one of the better songs as a single, we have only heard 1 full song. We have no idea if other songs are better or more unique.
For all we know, The Wolf could end up being one of the least favorite tracks off the album.
Which I'd be fine with, since I fucking love The Wolf.

I'm getting pumped for this new album (something I'm afraid to let myself do after the last two)... but it just sounds so promising... i've been mostly happy with the little 20 second youtube clips, and raynes tweets are building up my excitement.
Does anyone have an idea on when we can expect to hear a new song? I am unfamiliar with the process of producing songs, so i don't know what has to be done until his new song with more than stick beatable fallsetto goes from his recording pc to my ear drums? I get that it has to be recorded and then mixed... but how do they decide when to release it to the public?

Yeah... November/December in Raine time is like phhssst.... I won't even speculate on that. There isn't a formula to calculate Raine time. It just varies too much!
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida
Just a little FYI for everyone that is getting impatient with Album 8...
I did some quick calculations, and if it comes out before May 2012 (which is a great possibility), then the gap between Burn Burn and Album 8 will be shorter than the gap from Naveed to Clumsy. And in order to equate the gap between Gravity and HIPT, it would have to come out no earlier than September 2012. So I think we can be pretty confident that this album won't follow the trend of the last two and be the biggest gap yet.

Good stuff.

todddowney wrote:Good stuff. Yeah, all of the OLP time jokes (or realities, actually) aside, I really don't see this release being prolonged until Q2 2012. I'd sign on for a date as late as March, but any later would be pretty rough.
I agree with this. Howver I still worry they might push it for another Summer release.
EDIT:
Not really news but Raine's tweets still seem to point towards alot of falsetto:
Some Girl: @MrRaineMaida - In the '90s, your falsetto voice was so unique like Billy Corgan's — he still sings with that voice today, why don't you
