I think IE, Firefox, and Chrome are all pretty consistent as long as you declare a valid document type and write code that passes the W3 HTML Validator. Beyond that, just be careful with new features (especially CSS3). The latest version of IE seems to be getting there a little bit more, but IE7 and IE8 both had some weird (but totally different) quirky behaviors.

From Raine's Twitter:
"last OLP recording session for nu record begins in 166 hours! 4or 5 new songs and we hope to be done! stay tuned for studio footage."
OMG!!! Only 7 days to album finish? I think that it's a OLP finish!! hahahahah

Don't get your hopes up for videos. A lot of the clubs in LA are extremely opposed to recording (unless they're being paid to allow it) and I've heard the Viper Room is no exception.
Then there's the fact that OLP fans are practically non-existent in California. The Viper Room's capacity is around 250, and tickets are still available over a week after going on sale. I think a pretty big chunk of the audience is going to be there to see the other bands playing.
And OLP will probably only be onstage for 45 - 50 minutes, unless the Viper Room's more lenient about their stage times than similar venues in the area. I'm hoping they'll take the opportunity of playing to a small crowd and skip some of the usual tracks to instead play Thief, perhaps All My Friends or If You Believe, and a few new songs. But it will probably be something very close to:
Naveed
Angels/Losing/Sleep
Superman's Dead
One Man Army
Paper Moon
The Wolf
Clumsy
All You Did Was Save My Life
Innocent
Starseed

All too accurate and disappointing.

I agree.

I agree. Funny you should mention that actually. I usually try to see all of their shows in California and NY. The way they play (in my experience) in CA compared to NY is somehow night and day. I saw a few shows in Cali in 2009. One was at the Troubador, another at the House of Blues and I can't remember the other venue. Either way, the show in NYC (Fillmore) and even Jersey (Starland) blew away the others.
At this point, I'm just really anxious to hear some new songs.
The Fillmore was incredible. We went to the RXP acoustic set the next day and Raine was still excited about it. He was euphoric.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

You were at the RXP performance too?

You were at the RXP performance too? I have to meet some of you guys. Next NYC show perhaps. But yea, amazing show. Felt different from the start. The crows was unreal. A balcony climb is always a highlight.
Yes, I was!! That night/next morning were unforgettable. It was also the first time I met Raine

i am in a band that tours occasionally and... there is something really weird about west coast crowds. they just like to stand with their arms crossed and make little sounds as possible.. real hard to get them going.. opposed to east coast, everyone is up for a party.
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.

I'm terribly excited and terrified.

I've exclusively been to concerts on the west coast, from San Diego to Vancouver, and the only times I've experienced what you're describing have been:
1. during opening acts with unfamilar music that didn't appeal to the crowd -- but even then, usually some people get into it (maybe this is exactly what you're referring to though?)
2. when it suits the artist/venue (ie, singer-songwriter performing at a seated theatre)
3. OLP's "Clumsy" and "Spiritual Machines" sets
Pacific Northwest crowds have a lot less shoving/violence than California crowds. But I think that's a good thing.

Has anyone gotten on board with trusty for web testing? I was hoping he would tell us once he had a team selected, but i also know he's probably super busy.
I just picked up the live DVD. It was really fantastic. Just got me pumped for this new album.
I am curious... they had two unreleased songs on the live DVD. Whatever and Our Time is fading... which are, I think, a continuation (though evolved) of the gravity sound. Were these songs that didn't make gravity? Was the band planning on going this route with their sound before it was vito'ed by sony for HIPT? I made me kind of shocked to hear these two songs, and then think about the following two albums. I actually would love to hear a harder song like these pop up on the the new cd... or even a studio version of OTIF.
