They always try to make things to polished, at least on the last few cds. They need to really capture that live energy, and make a studio cd around that.

Yeah, the studio version in that clip todd posted does sound very tired and unnaturally slow, it's the same thing that happened with AYDWSML with the live vs. studio version. I think OLP started doing this kinda thing back with Not Afraid in 2003.

Hopefully they realize how awesome the live version was the other night, and change up the studio track to reflect that. Trusty, maybe you should let them know that the studio versions of some of their songs are lacking that energy and emotion that would make them so much better.

There's a soundcheck clip of wolf on youtube now. Raine does the quiet and soft vocals during the bridge so I guess that's the official version for now. Someone tell Raine to do it like the live version!

I just listened to the soundcheck and it sounds pretty much identical to the live version at the show to me..

The Wolf sounds like something they would have played/made a demo of during the Clumsy years. Maybe not something that would end up on the CD back then, but something in that vein.

I like the song a lot, but more importantly it's not generic like everything on Burn Burn. Although the chorus does sound exactly like Time Bomb's.

^^ soundcheck clip..

it sounds amazing except for the clipping quality.. this can be a huge hit with a ton of promotion. i saw someone say that this song is better than burn burn entirely and i really agree.

more more
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.

Also The Wolf has huge single material, I could easily see this being thrown into a game like NHL12 or something

Wow I liked Window Seat too, Had a Dream theatre/Radiohead vibe, vocals could be better but instrumentally I thought it was great. Steve is really fucking killing it lately

Link to my vid of Window Seat... sound quality sucks.. but gives you an idea for now. I have to agree, about this song sounding more so like a Raine Maida Solo song rather then OLP, but it is still new!

After finally getting home to good ole MN (As much fun as the trip was, 18 motherfucking hours of driving wears on you), I'm listening to The Wolf again, and damn, is that just the best build up ever. I can't even really explain it but the song just constantly gets better up til the end.

And the last few lines, like "I don't belong here anymore", Raine basically made the most passionate vocal utopia that unfortunately only live performances can capture. Unless the studio version comes out and the vocals are just as fucking awesome. It really is better than Burn Burn as a whole, and I like Burn Burn.

Steve's guitar solo? Probably my favorite solo by him thus far.

Our Lady Peace is back again with a vengeance, at least The Wolf is.

- wow, THE WOLF is awesome!!! definitely the best OLP song in years in my opinion, it blows everything from burn burn out of the water! very impressed.... great slow build up and great solo by steve as others have said

- disappointed with WINDOW SEAT, especially since raine said it was his favorite song so far. it sounds more like something from his solo album as others have pointed out, and i don't favor that style whatsoever. the song sounds like its trying to be a SM song, but the vocals ruin it. i really hope raine re-does the vocals on that song, and maybe changes up some of the melodies to make it sound less "spoken word".
