I got part of it and am uploading it to youtube right now. Mostly drumming. Unfortunately my recorder went wonky during the first big chunk of video and decided not to save. But some is better than none right?
Hopefully someone else had better luck.

Part 2 is literally 4 seconds. Don't think it uped properly.

I actually kind of like that song a lot.

Am I hearing that right?
"I see the light of the candle dkjfhkas flame, it burn burn burns"

Epic Beard Producer walking around barefoot. This record is gonna be so raw!

On a side note, They're gonna need a USB Mic or something for this, sounds like it's just the webcam/laptop mic.

I don't remember but I think the audio from the feed was only a little bit smoother than that (but it wasn't super clear either). I don't think my recording software lets me record better audio than that though =(.

And I dunno what happened to the 2nd video. Youtube sped it up like crazy. I'll try reuploading it

The feed was kind of shoddy like that from what I saw live.

I love the sound of this song. Keep the "this tiiiime" in the chorus.

He didn't sing it when he was in the control room, but it sounds really great layered the way it is.

LOL @ when he sings Roxanne at 10:46... why can't he sing in that kind of falsetto for the OLP songs!

This song (from the limited I can hear) sounds like it could be a pretty big inspirational-type song. Sounds like single material.

I hope they are going back to the days of writing songs, and then maybe just choosing singles, rather than writing a few singles for that purpose.

This is what I can piece together (from the vid):

Chorus:
Now, What are we waiting for, this time?
What are we waiting for, this time?

I say goodbye to my friends
.... you try to be brave
There's a four-leaf clover
You got life in your hands
you got lots in your brain
You're far from over.

I see the light in the distance
.....
Cause your heart was open.
I see you holdin' your breath
see the look on your face
That you're far from over.

To me this song sounds quite comparable to the singles from Burn Burn. I agree with you that they might be looking for single material with this one.

Sounds a lot like a "modern rock" song to me, even though Raine has kept saying "R.I.P. Modern Rock" in all his tweets about the album. Not that I don't like it, it's definitely catchy.

I tried reuploading it and youtube keeps making it 4 seconds.. I'm not sure why it's doing that =\. But anyways, the second part is really more of the same (some drum tracking and Raine tries the same verse again) so you guys aren't missing out on much

oh hey there!!!

no updates today as i pulled an all nighter and then started traveling at 4AM LA time this morning - just got home now....they guys are still there working for another day and that will wrap up this first round of recording for a little while - give some time away from the stuff and time to build up these other songs on the table so that they can just jump back into it when the time comes. (soon!)

i can tell you that anything you are expecting or think you know form what you heard - is not the case ;) - lots of demos and ideas floating around from all sides so in some cases you might of heard a demo that had that modern rock vibe - but i can assure anything like that has been deconstructed and rebuilt from the ground up with the focus on making it different and paying very extra special attention to every single note, hit , part, every tone and every vibe.

you guys know im a fan too and i gotta say that was a really interesting trip - olp is in a good place now and this record is shaping up to be like nothing they have ever done before - honest - to me it kinda seems like its the record they have all been wanting to make all this time - everyone has ideas, input and is really trying to push themselves with every part and every aspect of what they do - i really think this attention to detail, the determination and them just being true to themselves is really going to shine on this record :)

so yeah, there you - now im going to sleep - more updates tomorrow

“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but this is said before every single album.
