“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

At the question @MrRaineMaida will you have new OLP by July 23 when you're in London this summer?
Raine reply:
@dunneronfm96 fingers crossed!!! we will be playing new songs. Album shaping up to be most courageous and Epic OLP record to date!

I'm getting excited! The instrument tracks idea is pretty cool! Can't wait to hear what some people come up with.
Also excited about Raine's tweets hyping the album. Plus the fact he's saying it'll be a summer release... Whether he means this summer or any summer within the next three years remains to be seen.

This would involve clips for you guys to use to create something original
Hmm I didn't realize it but it looks like they add a monthly limit on the number of free downloads an artist can have. I was thinking you could just make it available for free through there and then work out on your own how the fans would deliver their creations back to you, but now they're limited to 200 free downloads/month or you can pay a bit for additional free downloads
indabamusic.com would probably be more appropriate, I've seen a few artists (Phil Selway, Amanda Palmer) use for remix contests -- but I'm not sure if it's open or free for any artist to set up this sort of thing without any hassle.
I actually suggested bandcamp because it is more geared towards selling music, and they offer higher-than-iTunes quality downloads for picky listeners so everyone's as happy as possible. If it could successfully work as a quick and easy way to distribute these tracks then OLP would be all set up and ready to expand into using it what it's actually for, and sell albums, or non-album songs/alternate/acoustic versions there. Maybe that's a little devious and hopeful on my part, but I'd pay a few dollars for some sort of digital EP with acoustic versions of some of the Burn Burn tracks or whatever else -- now that radio stations don't really release acoustic compilation CDs so much and nobody tapes FM broadcasts there's kind of a gap. Now there's youtube or radio stations' online streams, but compression for streaming doesn't play very nicely with acoustic guitar so the quality has suffered.

I love how Trusty snuck in the clip with Raine singing in falsetto after the "OURLADYPEACE.NET" bumper... sort of like an Easter egg. He knows we'd like it!!
