Wow, I would expect that kind of crap from the states.
Didn't think I would be blocked from seeing Canadian content.

Which is confusing because MTV is Viacom right?
Big corporate we want everyone to see as much advertising as possible entity?

And upon further examination I can view MTV videos on MTV.ru

That's a WTF moment if I've ever seen one.

Well that's shitty.

I know that Canadian TV networks have very close relationships with US networks because they are always keen on making sure us Canadians can't see any content from any US source, so that we're forced to watch redundant rebroadcaster channels up here like CTV and Global that air nothing but American content. We can't watch videos on MTV.com (US site), for example.

If it wasn't for the insistence of the Canadian TV networks and the CRTC enforcing this cross-border online censorship crap, I'm sure you guys would be able to watch our content online. Hulu had wanted to broadcast their library to Canadians and sell ads for us, but the Canadian TV nets and CRTC stepped in to prevent them from doing so.

I tried to PVR this, and I ended up PVRing someone else's episode. I was disappointed.

I can't find Raine and Chantal's video.

Also, I remember being in Minnesota and going on the Internet in my hotel. I tried to watch a video on MuchMusic and it wouldn't let me because I wasn't in Canada.

Looks like Facebook took it down, but if you'd like, video editing is one of the things I do so I'd be happy to put your video up on our dedicated media server?

Just keep your eye out - I think it has been on 15 times since then - MTV plays about 10 Cribs episodes a day so you should be able to catch it sometime.
