Thanks for the link. Very interesting how Raine said they pretty much made the entire 8th album, then scrapped it and started anew because it sounded too much like stuff they'd done before and that it "wasn't good enough". That gives me a lot of hope for the next record indeed.
Raine said he hopes for both albums to be released within the next 6-7 months and already has the solo album set to drop Nov. 29th. Does that mean new OLP will come before that?
I imagine the rapping would be easier on his voice. If that's the case....
How cool would it be if Raine solo acoustic opened for OLP during their tour?

Over analyzing everything instead of trusting their instincts....
I have a feeling we're still going to hear about that for a long time but maybe we won't hear the "too many two's" quote anymore.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida
I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again Teach the young people how to think, not what to think-Sidney Sugarman
That's what I was thinking. I wonder which executive he's talking about in this video? Obviously not Bob Rock because he said "6 or 7 years ago", which would be 2004 or so.
I don't know what to think about this speech... I honestly have to say that OLP songs like Somewhere Out There, All You Did Was Save My Life, Never Get Over You, The End Is Where We Begin.... they all seem to be the antithesis of what he's talking about here, especially when he says he didn't want to be "giving into the status quo" or "following trends". OLP has done many one dimensional, ballady generic songs in the past 10 years.
