i should've seen it coming, but i totally didn't! spoilers in black text: rita's been a constant throughout the show, and through dexter's struggle for normalcy. in a naive way, i felt like her and dexter were meant to be together. i know some people didn't like her, but i had gotten really attached to her. i'm apprehensive to see how the show is going to continue without her.

HOLY ....
I finally got around to finishing the last season of Dexter.
I knew he was getting sloppy towards the end but I didn't see that coming.
I should had with the references to Dexters past being brought up via Debra but didn't see it coming.
Helluva season ending cliffhanger.

Showtime has also just started to re-air season 4 leading up to the fall premiere.

I got the first 4 books for my birthday this year. From what I've heard the TV series began to diverge from the books after the first season so they should be interesting to read.

And since I only watch this show on blu ray (no way I could wait days between episodes!) I now leave this thread for about another year.
But first, for US fans, Amazon has a very reasonable price for seasons 1-3 on blu ray. Maybe if shipping is reasonable it would even be a good deal for folks in Canada (Amazon.ca doesn't have similar pricing).
