TW inspires confidence. Like MoL said, I do like these songs, for sure I do. They're just not embodying the part about Raine's first solo CD that I loved so much. But I'm still on board for this thing, don't you worry. Especially with TW's reassurances.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.

Sorry if it seems like we're complaining Trusty... I'm definitely not, just fleshing things out. We're damn lucky and privileged to have Raine and the band releasing so much music lately. It's awesome!

http://radio923fm.radio.com/2010/08/12/ ... lo-update/

Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida just sent an e-mail updating me on the status of his new solo CD. According to Raine, the track “Bury Me With A Gun” (streaming HERE) is a teaser track available August 24th via iTunes. The official first single will be out in September with two other tracks to follow in October and November and a full CD and illustrated book January 11, 2011. Raine released his first full-length solo CD in 2007 called The Hunters Lullaby.

January... Really...? :uh:

Pushing it to 2o11? thought he wanted it out in 2o10. But atleast we get quite a bit of songs in between the release of the album, sounds good, hopefully he doesn't go on a big tour for this album so they can focus on new OLP as soon as possible.

Well first the new OLP album was supposed to be late 2010, then new year 2011. His solo was supposed to be around October, with songs released every 2-3 weeks to lead up to it starting in August. Now his solo album is new year 2011. I'm assuming he'll want to tour for it, which I wouldn't have a problem with, but I have a feeling it'll delay the OLP album. Even without a big solo tour, I seriously wouldn't expect the OLP album until late 2011 at the earliest.

I know all of us here always joke about how long it'll take for an album to be released, but I've pretty much learned to take anything the band says (release time periods, sounds they're going for, what is or isn't on the album, etc.) with a grain of salt.

Yeah I'm aware of what the time lines the band and Raine have set for new albums and really I'm surprised the solo is coming as early as January to be honest.

=( The longer Raine's solo album takes.. the longer OLP's next album takes. Double Whammy..

People should know by now that Raine timelines and reality are two very different things

I also feel like some people are kind of complaining that he's doing solo stuff because it's taking time away from the band stuff... let's look on the bright side... as someone said before. We're getting both. Two albums and two tours in less than a year. That's a constant stream of music. He's trying to do two things at once. It's going to take a while. Patience people.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Well it remains to be seen if they'll be in less than a year...

And I'm not complaining about his solo career, as I really enjoy his solo stuff. Just find it annoying that the band's interviews tend to be the least credible source for info.

You weren't the person I had in mind when I made that comment. :D
