Is "Raine Maida" just a stage name?

Does his wife and family call him Raine or Mike/Michael? I've always wanted to know that...?

When Chantal mentions him in tweets she always calls him Raine. Although some things that he's written or produced for others have him named Michael... but maybe those are artists he isn't really proud to be associated with. I think pretty much everyone just calls him Raine.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

In public I call him Raine but when there isn't a crowd I usually just call him M-Dogg. Sometimes Rain Man...

Everytime I see him with Chantal she has called him Honey, Dear or Raine. I have no idea what his friends or family call him. I do know at times the band calls each other by last names. Once in awhile I call him Maida and he laughs.

Honestly though I think legally he is still Micheal Anthony Raine Maida but goes by Raine. I do not think it is a stage name. Only he never legally changed it. That is all.

He is registered to BMI under the name of Michael Maida.

Interesting. When did he register? Back in the early 90s?

I dunno, probably. And he's with SOCAN to be exact, its part of ASCAP.

Mike Turner is registered for the same as "Mike A. Turner" What's the "A" stand for?

It also gives the first bass player's full name, Christopher John Eacrett.

+ Steven Theodore Mazur

You did not know that was Steve's middle name..
