Not to seem creepy, but I thought the same thing.
no, I thought that too.... he also looks younger... which is odd because he already looks about 10 years younger than he is.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Plus, the whole sunglasses thing doesn't look cool at all to me. Actually avoids him from making any eye contact with the fans whatsoever. Maybe he was wearing those so that he could read lyrics. Haha.
If you look last falsetto performance(before the Clumsy night) when he sing in falsetto close the eyes...maybe he don't want that the fans look this, or maybe you're right for the fact of the lyrics. However Steve it's fucking amazing with the old song(OMG i can't stop to listen the guitar in my head) OLP ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish that the energy in this tour it's also in the new album especially the falsetto...
To be honest guys, I think Raine was nervous as fuck singing some of those songs for the first time in like a decade+. He eventually loosened up about half way I think, took off the shades and stuff, but you could tell he was trying his best not to fuck them up, he was always checking for our approval and stuff, but he did nail them, as did everyone else.

I disagree, I think it added to the atmosphere of the performance of Clumsy. I guess you had to be there to really get the feel of it. I think the sunglasses added a bit of mystery to it all, and really made me feel like I was in the presence of classic OLP.

Believe it or not he gets nervous with every show. Esp when songs not performed are done. Who can blame him though.?

One thing that completely floored me is when I saw that "Halifax rehearsals" video from Trusty where they were practicing Spiritual Machines songs... Raine is singing in the exact same octave as the originals and he's doing it beautifully. I thought for sure he would bring it down an octave or two, but he's really dedicated, he's even hitting all the original falsetto yelps... it's sending chills down my spine to hear this stuff. He hasn't reverted to the pre-Gravity nasal/grungy style vocals or anything but it still sounds amazing. I'm glad Wonderful Future wasn't in that clip though, I want to save hearing that for the whole song, preferably on a professional release by the band if they do one.

No he kinda ignored the falsettos in that song... but he threw in a random yelp at the end I think. That would be one of my two complaints about the show... the other is One Man Army. He just really needs to relearn how to sing the chorus to that song correctly. I cringe when he sings the chorus.

Wow, all in all these performances are really good!!!
Something about the guitar tone in Shaking isn't quite doing it for me. In my mind, that song was a farewell to whatever grunge influences they had in Naveed. The production of that song really made it for me -- guitar had a great tone and the snare drum has this reverb similar to songs like Supersatellite, Dirty Walls, Julia, Neon Crossing that makes it sound like four guys, playing together, in a garage or abandoned warehouse.
Of course the live performance will never sound the same as studio -- but something about the video FinalizerCX posted is just a little too clean. Maybe other videos of it will sound better though -- I think his camera has an odd frequency response which may be making the guitar sound different (not as good) than it really did at the show. Who knows!
