RBN seems more for the unsigned college band types.
Yeah, but lately OLP lacks the balls to do anything fun.
That's right Trustworthy, I dare OLP to do something fun, like get on Rockband or come to Minnesota.

... Or release a FREAKING UNRELEASED SONGS ALBUM (pretty much I'm going to keep posting about it until TW gets really tired of reading it).
And on another note, IME is in Rock Band? I mean, I'm not a huge IME fan, but I like 4 or 5 songs by them. Heh.

Thanks for looking it up - I suppose I could of done it myself but just thought everyone else already knew.
Ok, I just looked it up - its on the Metal Track Pack which would explain why I didn't know. I just have to say that the singer they picked couldn't look further from what Edwin looks like lol (and they could of picked a better song!!)

I'm sure they could get in RB through the regular channel as well, however....it's been 2 years and that's yet to happen. I thought it would be nice if the band would take initiative. Also, just because they release some tracks through RBN does not mean they will not be considered for regular DLC. (though I suppose specific tracks already released through RBN would not)
While I'm sure a majority of the artists in RBN will be smaller names, there are bands such as Dream Theater who are actually considering trying to find a way to get their whole catalogue available through RBN (they have a person close to the band, I guess the TW of Dream Theater that is actually into RB and capable of charting)
The benefit of OLP doing it through RBN is we're more likely to get songs we would want instead of just hits.
(Car Crash!)

Every line I've crossed has come undone, everything I know is somehow wrong.
Sorry for the bump, but just wanted to throw out a few more (well-known) artists that have confirmed that they will be getting tracks on the RBN
All That Remains – Three tracks from them, including the first song they recorded an acoustic version of (I’m assuming it’s “Forever In Your Hands”)
Evanescence
The Stills
Ministry – Tracks off of the first half of “The Last Sucker” album
The Shins
Flight of the Conchords
(http://rockbandaide.com/major-artist...-band-network/)
that's confirmed from a HMX podcast.
So while to me OLP is a much bigger deal than all of these (combined), it's evidence that even some major artists are in on this thing, it's about the fans.
Some live tracks from the Clumsy/SM tour could be quite awesome. It would mean waiting a bit, but it would be damn cool. Whether they're by means of RBN or regular DLC

For anyone interested, someone charted out the drums for Where Are You, Big Dumb Rocket, Neon Crossing, and Starseed on Frets on Fire.

Hey guys.
RockBand may never include Our Lady Peace but with a Wii and RawkSD (http://rawksd.japaneatahand.com/wiki/Main_Page), we can play customs.
I am working on a tool to help me create songs compatible with RockBand.
Notes (Guitar):

Vocals:

I'm not a musician, hence the tools like wave overlaying, FFT frequency note analysis, and MIDI import features to do most of the work for me. Still, it only gets me so far. If anyone can help me transcribe the music for the lyrics, that would save me so much time. It isn't as important for the instruments because they are trimmed down to 5 buttons anyway (plus most of the guitar tabs can be found online). The vocals on the other hand use actual notes. I'm currently working on Clumsy. Anyone have the sheet music?

Hi Corey, that is awesome! I don't think I'm the best person to help map out the vocals (hunting and pecking for the correct tones to reproduce a melody takes longer for me than it should -- I think that is what you need help with?), but having been a drummer once upon a time I can probably help to accurately map Jeremy's drum parts into the 5 buttons.

Actually, that would be a huge help. I haven't even touched drums yet. I don't think drum tabs are as easy to find as guitar tabs. I think the easiest thing to do would be to break it down to quarterbeats? You tell me, actually. Keep in mind, you generally have 2 cymbols (yellow and green), 2 snair? (red and blue) and the kick pedal to play with.
And yes, I'm looking for the notes for the vocals. I'm transcribing right now using my tool actually. I actually discovered that it is easier to take an entire phrase into the FFT, rather than one word at a time. This will give you 2-4 peaks that should represent all of the notes in that verse. Then I just have to figure out the correct order which I think can be done by just singing to yourself and hearing where the tone goes up and down.
Again, I'm not a musician, so I'm just winging it.

Absolutely. If you ever come across sheet music, send it my way.
And if anyone can get their hands on the master tracks (not likely), that would be AMAZING.
