What do you think Raine means when he says

"You keep getting ready for the big parade"

anything in particular? or just a great moment?

My guess is that the "big parade" is the moment when you finally break away from the things that get you down.

I always thought the big parade was kind of a thing... that's never gonna come. You keep waiting for something big to happen, dealing with the daily shit 'cause you keep assuming it's gonna get better eventually.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,

Raine explained that Paper Moon was about living in a situation or society that has many traditions that trap you. So in this case, the big parade would be some big event that is made a big deal out of. Could be a big ceremony, religious event, or even holiday, I guess.

The song's about escaping that, and abandoning tradition for the sake of tradition. Kind of just striking out with your own ideas rather than just following the accepted rules.

At Stampede Roundup before the guitar solo Raine told "This song is about escaping life"...people this is an amazing song one of best OLP's song ever...

Exactly. I take it as a song about escaping what is formulated and expected.
