I heard Raine say right before they performed it acousticlly (it's on the hub, but the sound quality isn't great) something with comparing technology to the mafia being right behind you, or something like that.
Even regarding songs that were said to be influenced by the book - I'm sure there's some sort of personal meaning or alternate meaning going on in these songs, be it the entire song or just a few lines. The songs don't have to exclusively be about one thing or the other, you know?
As for the Jeremy interview, even in my OLP n00bness, I've been curious to how they're going to be pulling these albums off. I absolutely don't doubt their ability at all, just a lot of layers etc. going on, specifically on Spritual Machines, as well as the fact that several of the songs haven't been played in years, if ever.
Thus, if Jeremy was a bit stressed at this particular time and is sounding a little less than enthusiastic about the idea of this tour on one specific morning, I can see why.
Just the same, I'm sure there was a lot of talk over whether everyone in the band really wanted to go through with this, and I'm sure some cons about doing it were named by most if not all of the band. In the end, I doubt it would have been done if one or two of them were really opposed to the idea behind the tour.

He told me in July he does not drink anymore. Whether that is true or not I do not know. I do not think he was kidding though. I just found that weird. Then again Jer was never known for drinking till about recently..

The only songs off SM that has never been done live is All My Friends. The songs done on/off over the last few tours have been " In Repair', 'Mafia ' and Wonderful Future'
the only thing is CLumsy was recorded as a 4 piece and toured as a 4 piece. Spiritual Machines was recorded with a 5th member and toured with a 5th member. That may be the challenge more then playing the songs. Although both Duncan and Steve can play piano/keys and Raine has played electric and accoustic guitar in the past ..

Just a joke...I just meant he was sounding a little rough. I didn't really get that he is not excited about the tour from that interview he was just not perky - and I am far from perky when I'm hungover.

Just a reminder: I am *TOTALLY PUMPED* for this tour. Our Lady Peace is the coolest band ever, rarely does a band ever do something this awesome for their most hardcore fans.

Haha, I love it!
Rarely (in my normal daily life) do I find anyone else who is that *TOTALLY PUMPED* about this tour like I am!
Just watched them play Superman's Dead at the Rivoli on youtube and I forgot how great of a stage presence they can have. Steve and Jer went crazy. Throw in Raine from the Birdman off the DVD and that would be my ideal show.

dude was super tired as you can imagine.
i can assure you everyone is super amped about this tour!!!
so that explains it. Super Jer to the rescue
I wonder who is more excited. The Band or The Fans?
What is really adding to the excitment for me personally is I remember how awesome those songs were live in 1997-2001. I can only imagine what they would be like now.. I have 100% faith in the band. This is going to be great for all..

Thanks, me too! I started physical therapy this week so money is going to be *really super tight* for a while, but I'm hoping I can at least get to the Spiritual Machines show. I'd love to get to both but I don't think I can afford the $75 or so it would cost to go to both.

It would be awesome to have a NYC tour date. They packed the house at the Filmore for the Burn Burn album release and I'm sure they'd do it again for two shows. I'd be there for both.

And I will do just about anything for the Riviera site to actually update with the sale link or to get through on the phone. Tickets went on sale 42 frigging minutes ago, the site still hasn't updated :|
Much, much, much rather go to an NYC date, I'll piss my pants three times out of anger and sorrow if these are bought and then they come to NYC. Buffalo is gonna be a pain to get to.
That's if the tickets ever actually go on sale online or I can get through on the phone, though >: (
