I went all out, and got VIP tickets! I'm so excited, I feel sick.

I bought it through Maple Music, because .net was flunking out and I was too impatient. I used my mother's credit card, of course, and put her name on the mailing address, to coordinate with credit card information.

However, when I got the receipt through email, they decided to tell me that tickets were not going to be delivered, but instead, I'd have to present ID and bring my recepit.

This is an issue.

Seeming as I'm not a forty-some year old woman.

i think as long as you have your receipt, and your last name is the same as your mom's, it should be fine. they can't really expect a 14 year old to pay using her own credit card. if you're really worried, though, send them an email.

I think you can just go to the venue beforehand with your mom and pick up your tickets ahead of time. That way she doesn't have to go that night.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I'd call them, explain the situation and see if something can be done (perhaps they can be picked up by your mom in advance, or more likely they can switch the name on the order to you). I'm sure your situation won't be unique and they should be able to handle it.

Seriously, Trustworthy, get them to drop the VIP tickets to $100! Seriously, for two nights between me and Laurel, there's NO way we can afford $800....I wonder how many people actually can?

Go for the regular price tickets, maybe do VIP for one of the nights. I think $200 is priced a little high. I would say $120 - $160 wouldn't be unreasonable since it comes with a couple physical items and it's guaranteed close to the stage and comes with a meet and greet.

I think $200 is the same price for the premier seats from UltraStar in 2006? We all know those did not sell well (at least in certain areas) based on how many people attended soundcheck. Maybe with the album themed shows there will be more interest.

The policies are obviously going to be different for every venue, but when this happened to me once, I called the venue & they changed the name on the receipt for me, so I got in without any problems.

well, the way it's worded it sounds like you only have a chance to meet OLP, not guaranteed, but that's not the point. Yeah being in the first 10 rows would be nice, but I'm familiar with the venue, and the seats aren't worth 4 times the price of a regular ticket. So unless the physical item is extremely well made or like honestly a real collector's item that isn't something that costs 10 cents for them to print copies of, they shouldn't charge so much. Meeting the band, for one thing, shouldn't cost the fans ANYTHING. Why should we fans to meet them? That's not right. They don't seem like the kind of guys to charge their fans to meet them...

That's a very interesting discussion. I've seen bands charge quite a lot for meet and greet packs, but most of them usually include bonus stuff like signed posters and other nice memorabilia. I too think it's a bit expensive and that "the band" shouldn't charge so much from a fan to get to meet them. But considering those are special nights, there are definately going to be hardcore fans who'll be willing to pay that much. So I guess that could only mean this is a nice way for the band to profit from their fans. Not that it's a band thing or anything... if they new that their fans weren't willing to pay this much they definately wouldn't have put such hight price.

Well... they must know a lot of their fans want to hear all those songs from their old albums.. so they knew we'd pay sky high for the tickets and VIP passes. Do you think Lando and Laurel would have paid a dime to see Burn Burn in its entirety? Or HIPT? I know I wouldn't pay near $200 if it were those albums. The band is thinking smart.

I won't pay $200 to see Clumsy or SM in their entirety, either. Sounds the same where ever you sit!

Honestly, to me, the "perks" that come with the VIP are NOT at all worth $200. It's at least an extra $150 on top of a normal ticket for a couple of items, and the CHANCE to meet the band. Not even guaranteed. And I would never pay for a chance to meet a band. Never. And in the first ten rows? Unless you're guaranteeing me front row, somewhere in the first ten rows really isn't that special. If I'm online fast enough, for most concerts, I can get that no problem. Without paying a premium.

I will only be paying the regular ticket prices. I have to buy 2 sets of tickets for both nights - so that would be $800 plus two nights of hotels, gas and food. I have at least one other friend going with us and she is not a big enough fan to pay $200 a ticket (she just thought she would only go one night until I convinced her otherwise) so I can't leave her by herself while I'm in the VIP section.

Wow these prices are sounding outrageous. I'm starting to think I couldn't buy tickets even if they do come somewhat near me.

I went to a Dream Theater concert at the Molson Amphitheatre and the first 10 rows or so had special tickets for them. They were obviously quite pricy, but for such a big venue that might be worth it. I´m not too fond of the idea of having more expensive tickets for the first rows of a gig, but if it has to be that way, those tickets should indeed be a bit more expensive.

But I too think that $200 is a bit too much.
And yeah, a CHANCE to meet the band kind of sucks. At least if you knew you´d go on a meet & greet session afterwards. But "a chance" is too vague.

And also, I´m more into the idea of a venue having the same price for tickets, no matter how close to the stage they get. But that´s utopic of me to think like that.
