B-b-but Than is a preference while Then means followed by. In a simple sense. Haha.

Out of curiousity, Has Raine ever been asked flat out why he sings so damn different? I want to know from him.

I mean, he sings even lower than he did during the HIPT tour.

DG wrote:As much as OMA has changed, saying they are ruining it is ridiculous. Yes, Raine sings it much more mellow and low, blah, blah. It's just personal opinion, but OMA is a song that as long as Raine is singing fucking rocks.

Don't jump down my throat yet. I DO PREFER THE ORIGINAL BY A LONG SHOT. But if they drop that song from the setlist I will be quite disappointed. It's one of the songs that makes the band go apeshit in terms of stage present. I absolutly loved seeing it live.

i agree.

Finally in!

This is so exciting!

But seriously, people say the falsetto was completely absent from HIPT. Did anyone actually listen to that album? Did they skip past "Wipe that smile off your face?!

Burn Burn has next to no falsetto at all.

And BTW, i love this emoticon, :spam:

As I was discussing with Flynn last night on MSN (yes people still use that thing), I think it's more the grungy type of voice that we miss from Raine, not necessarily any falsetto. Yes, songs like Wonderful Future have pure falsetto and no grunge, but now that we've lost both aspects I think it's the grungy, edgy voice we miss the most.

i asked him he said "just beacuse" and then said "but wait till this next tour" and then he punched me in the face and smiled at me :)

“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Check Raine's twitter.

I am going to Canada. Without a doubt.

Note: Laurel probably would tweak reading that. "Than" for "Then". Tsk, Tsk, Raine.

Haa haa... all his tweets would make her twitch. His tweets needs some help. That's why I volunteered to be the Maida Mafia Twitter tutor.

For some reason I imagined him writing much better than he does. haha.

Me too. His writing really dumbs down what he's saying, in my humble opinion. However, I do appreciate his enthusiasm!

I know the difference between your/you're, their/there, than/then but I don't ever proof read my posts and sometimes I am distracted by a toddler sitting on my knee. I do notice it in other posts when I read them though, and you can correct me if you like laurel - doesn't bother me really.

Can we correct you even if we don't like Laurel?

Just kidding -- what's not to like?
