Raine has been singing Alice In Chains to warm up his voice lately, so I've been told by a trustworthy source. So far, I've noticed a difference in the performances since he started doing it. I think he can sing the songs. The question is, can he memorize the lyrics?

I seem to remember watching some clip (pretty sure from the A Decade DVD) where Raine has the lyrics taped to the floor right in front of his mic. That might be a good idea for this tour.
Raine makes this job also in Burn Burn deluxe DVD in the footage of Monkey Brains...he look the floor and i think that there were the lyrics. In fact in the live version of Monkey Brains he change the lyrics among the studio version...

He didn't change the lyrics on purpose.... he just doesn't know the words... lol. He's been singing them wrong for so long know I think he actually believes those ARE the lyrics.

“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

It will definitely be an experience to hear all these songs live from the new OLP, no matter how they sound. One part of me wants to hear them as close to the original recordings as possible, but another part of me wants to hear the "new OLP" take them on with a new style. Hmm.

I'd rather hear them as close to the CD version as possible =X

Im more fearful i would say.
Either they plan to really try and ace those songs in this tour regardless of recent performances, or they have no idea what they're getting into. But I doubt they could forget how intricate those songs were with Raine's voice and the instruments and everything. They know what they're getting into, they know these songs aren't anything like The End Is Where We Begin or AYD.

I know just how to pull it off:

Sure, Mike probably has a good advantage since he wrote/recorded the album. But I was thinking of a Joel + Zac combo. With an album like Spiritual Machines a musician like Zac would bring a lot more to the table than another pure guitarist. Jamie or Mike E. would work too.
