Also they've played half of the songs on Clumsy in recent years. Not too many from SM but I know they've been practicing Are You Sad and they played Mafia at the at soundcheck in Philly a few months ago. It sounded really good. Just because they don't preform all the songs doesn't mean they aren't still playing them during rehearsals and such.

Now... Everyone's a Junkie on the otherhand, that would be interesting since I heard they would NEVER play that song again.

It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Not really, if they gave themselves enough time.

If other bands can cycle in random songs from years past and pull it off, then OLP should be able to as well. If they did it sometime really soon it'd be asking too much, but if they gave themselves a few months to get reaquainted with the songs, it would work pretty well.

(And who knows, maybe when they relearn these songs, it will serve as some inspiration for their new album.)

Good point with your last line, it would be very interesting to see how revisiting these old albums could reinspire them for their next album.

LOCOBONE

The real funny thing about this would be if they did do that and it was SM.It be Dec 2000 all over again> They played each Province small venues for SM. The tickets were free through fanclub, Clumsy Congress, Coalitiion and various radio stations. Only a handful of tickets were sold at every show.

It was called the Club Crawl tour. Now that was a fun show. I went to the Montreal show and it was definitely the longest OLP show ever. They played 23 songs and about 2-1/2 hours. What is even more amazing about that is Duncan and I believe Raine were sick..

BTW as far as I know All My Friends was never done live. It would be interesting to see. I do however know Raine will not sing it as on the cd. If you caught them recently even Automatic Flowers was sung different. Other then that be interesting to see that CD done live again.

As far as 4 piece go. They can pull it off.. Steve and Duncan both play keys and Raine has played more guitar as of late.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

I can see Steve and Duncan using backing vocals to replace Raine's high-falsetto in lines like "Again, this time, we won't understand again, I'm not waiting for..." in All My Friends. Which would be better than Raine just lowering the octave and having no high-octave backing.

Actually Bree since respective tours they have played songs off both cds.

I would lean more toward SM cause they do alot of stuff off Clumsy still..

Clumsy, SUperman, 4AM and now Automatic Flowers. Car Crash was done on the 05 tour. Kicker and I saw Carnival in a soundcheck and a few have said it was in a few 05/06 shows..

As for SM only IN Repair and maybe Mafia have been done on and off for years. Are You Sad was done in 03'. Nothing else off that cd has been performed recently( by that I mean tours from Gravity On).. I know alot of people wanted to hear Everyone's A Junkie at alot of shows I went to over the years. Oh yeah Wonderful Future was done at a few collage shows in 03'

Off Clumsy it would of been cool to see Let You Down or Hello Oskar again. They have not played those songs since that tour.. Shaking and BDR were done at a few shows here and there.

I'm thinking they might go for Clumsy (even if the fans vote SM) just because they have played more songs from that album recently. They've also gone on record saying they would never play Junkie again, but that was 5 years ago. They never said anything about never playing a Clumsy song again (maybe Hello Oskar?). But SM is 10 years old next year, so it's perfect timing.

I wish they never do JUNKIE again..They would have to pratice alot if that cd was done. As I said that one has not been performed in years.

They hadn't performed Automatic Flowers in years, though.. And that was also left off of A Decade. Truthfully, I was pretty sure that song was never again seeing the light of day. So who knows about Junkie..

If it were up to me I would hope to hear Spiritual Machines, but I have a feeling it'll be Clumsy (which we couldn't really complain about either). Although I was a little surprised to see Raine twitter about it like they debating between the two, since Spiritual Machines was winning by quite a margin from what I remember.

Yeah, to be honest it seemed to me that Happiness and Naveed were both getting more votes than Clumsy on the poll. Maybe the band has just already decided they're going to do Clumsy because it's probably the tamest of the 3 latter-classic era albums. But then again they could have went the easy way and picked Naveed, or even Gravity (I know they would never have picked HIPT)

I'm guessing they'll do Clumsy. But i would LOVE to see SM. I think Made to Heal would be great live. Was it ever played? It's one of my favorites by OLP and my favorite on SM hands down.

I saw Made To Heal performed 2x

Club Soda-Montreal- Dec 13th 2000
Birch Hill- Old Ridge NJ- May 17th 2001

If you really think about it. They have played alot of songs off Naveed over the years. This is actualy the first tour The Birdman was not done in anyway shape or form. They put Denied back in earlier shows and Hope was done in Canadian 06' tour.. People also said that SUpersatelite was done a few times recently.

Happiness they still do OMA and IS ANYBODY HOME.. They did do Potato Girl at some 05' shows..

so I think they are looking at CD's the fans want to hear and what they probably have not done in awhile..

really curious to see how all this plays out no matter what CD it is..

Agreed, Gail.

SM is probably the album that's seen the least love as of late. I think the only SM song performed on the HIPT tour was In Repair.. and then Life and Are You Sad tacked onto others.

I hate to sound harsh but Raine's really hacking OMA these days. He just can't sing the chorus anymore, period. And the way he tries to alter it just doesn't work. I think many of the songs on Happiness are just too intricate for them to try playing today. So I wouldn't know what to expect if they did that album.

Hope was also played at the 08 shows, and Supersatellite was tossed in an encore last September.

They also busted out Waited on the '05/'06 tour...where they also did not play The Birdman. I think Steve, and all of us, got completely burned out on it.
