ah, nevermind....should have actually spent 10 seconds on it...CLUSMY vs SPIRITUAL. This is very promising (and has the potential to be expensive for me).

Those were my votes, quite pleased.

Trustworthy! Did you take notes from Matt about recording + audio formats? I'm really looking forward to hearing/seeing something from the show(s), and mp3s are great but it'd be awesome if there's a downloadable DVD or flac set.

Glad Raine agrees that this will be their sweetest tour ever... or at least in a long while. I wonder if he means they'll be playing either SM or Clumsy, or that they're playing both? I assume he means one or the other, since he uses "VS" and all. So they just haven't decided yet. I'm still rooting for SM.

....

I want them to stop dicking around and say what they are doing and where they are going so I can be excited. I don't have it in me to keep up with hints and surprises and whatever. just say it, damnit.

ALmost every fan I know or spoken to has said that is their best cd. Plus alot of newer fans never got to see that cd done live.

Aww memories of that tour. It was amazing.. Cutty Shark sponsored it in the USA .. Never mind that the songs sounded great live and I dop anything to hear them again> Esp Middle Of Yesterday and If You Believe.

I reeeaaally hope I don't have to make an attempt at making a long trip for this. They should play it a series of shows in a row throughout the US and Canada (and even toss it in for a UK show or two since they said they want to make it back there).

I've had that Middle of Yesterday video in my favorites for a few months now, it is freaking amazing. Better than the original version IMO. They also did Automatic Flowers at that same concert, and it was better than the original recording IMO.

If they go with Spiritual Machines it will be interesting as a 4 piece.... could be very cool or very bad (but hopefully not bad or else they wouldn't be considering it)! Songs like All My Friends and If You Believe will sound much different without keyboard. I'm not sure if I'd rather hear that, or see it done with a touring musician. Both would be exciting!

In a perfect world they would do small theatre shows across Canada without an opening band. They'd perform Clumsy front to back, take an intermission, then perform Spiritual Machines front to back.

He did mention Clumsy vs Spiritual, yes?

He mentioned it twice. Today it was backwards... 'YSMULC vs LUATIRIPS'

Definitely would go as far as Toronto to see this. Hopefully by some fluke they play Windsor or something though, ha.

How long does it take to get to Toronto from Albany? It can't be as bad as Sarnia! :D *Bayfest = grumble grumble*

Happiness. However, I am not holding out hope that this will be done. Mainly because when you asked us what we all REALLY wanted, we said a b-sides CD release. And of course, the answer was no. My guess is OLP will say "thanks for the input, we've decided to go with HIPT or Gravity," since it's newer and they know more currently from it.

I would still love to hear Happiness live.

Did you not read any of the recent posts? The band has already confirmed that they're doing either Clumsy or Spiritual Machines...

This is pretty much exactly what my dream scenario would be, too.

Almost 20 songs they haven't played in years (or ever) that they'd have to fully memorize? I think that'd be asking too much of them, honestly.

Not really, if they gave themselves enough time.

If other bands can cycle in random songs from years past and pull it off, then OLP should be able to as well. If they did it sometime really soon it'd be asking too much, but if they gave themselves a few months to get reaquainted with the songs, it would work pretty well.

(And who knows, maybe when they relearn these songs, it will serve as some inspiration for their new album.)
