I don't get this at all. Why am I supposed to care for these people when they jump? Who is chasing them?

Explain to me then. :)

As you can probably tell, I was left feeling rather perplexed.

But really, television is irrelevant to the situation. Music videos are still popular, and IMO important, although they're now mostly accessed through Youtube and other online means.

I was being sarcastic. I personally don't feel videos are all that important. If you you need a storyline to get you interested in a song you probably shouldn't be listening to it. Music is about the feeling you get when you hear the music or the connections you make to the lyrics. I think live performances are much more important.

The only videos I've really watched in the last few years are those from bands I'm already into and I only watch them once or twice out of curiousity.

It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

I also think that people who don't like the song or the video or whatever else need to move on. No one is saying you have to like it and you're entitled to your opinion, but for the love of God stop complaining all the friggin time already! OY! End Rant.

I'll complain when my favorite band known for their creativity decides to drop their creativity for that music video.

Between SM and Gravity, OLP almost dumped their entire fanbase in exchange for the teeny bopper fanfare. I'm pretty sure they had thousands and thousands of fans who felt devastated and betrayed by this. Now even if like 99% of these people didn't keep complaining and just moved on, this would still leave quite a few disheartened fans who will continue to hang around message boards to stay in the loop in the hopes that the band will one day come to their senses.

I'm not saying it's right for people to keep complaining about the band's new direction, but it would be wrong to think that the band can shed its ghosts so easily (like it or not these people will be around until the end).

People complaining about OLP. People complaining about people complaining about OLP. What's the difference? It's all just people complaining to me.

The way I see it, nothing would ever change without a some complaining. I'm not saying us getting upset about *insert something OLP did wrong or could have done better* will make a change, but there's a lot less likely chance of a change if we all don't actually give our opinion and say (in this example) "Yes! My favorite new video! Scott Weintrob is the man and I love the concept!"

I'd also like to note that I'm not bashing anyone who likes it. I was saying that if someone doesn't like it, then they should definitely say they don't like it.
