My band is under construction at the moment. "Hype" is no longer a good name for us. Any suggestions? Were an OLP type band. Cryptic lyrics, Heavy guitar-bass-drums stuff so if you could think of anything, pleeeease tell me. If we pick one of your names, you guys can all have our EP first for free. SO HELP PLEASE!!!

Didn't I read in another thread once that you like poetry? Why don't you look through one of your favorite poems and see if something stands out?
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

If I'm ever in a band, we're going to be the Belly Flop Communists.
But you could go through some really cool lyrics from songs you like and find some interesting way to incorperate it into a band name.

Yes I do. I should look though some Mark Van Doren. Seriously! That'd be cool

I would have to say Recrypt would also be a good band name.
But don't use it or I'll punch you in the head.

Here's the thing that I've never quite understood about bands that struggle to find a name.
If you aren't creative enough to name yourself, what does that say about your music?

uhhhh. Nothing? Let's see weve written about 130 decent songs and were still nameless. It's not about creativity

Why would copyright law require you to get his permission to use a phrase he took from a song written by Raine Maida?
