Hmm... didn't wanna bring this up BUT... in that interview Raine says that Mike "didn't want to make music just for making music", and that he disagreed with the direction with Gravity...

but in another (2008) interview Raine said that looking back, he has become "uncomfortable" with the direction Bob Rock pushed him toward with Gravity... so does anyone think Raine is maybe a bit guilty about letting Mike go? Ya I know... I'm delving into this shit again, but hey its a new interview, so..

I think the comment about Mike was from 2003.

I remember listening to that one back in '07...so it's gotta be at least that old.

One thing that did make me laugh, though, was the fact that Raine said that the "music is better off" now that Mike's gone.

:( the sad result of Raine not listening to any of his own music (or so he says)

Hey Raine

U2 still are my Religion.. I remember how he mentioned he followed them in 87' on the Joshua Tree tour.. I even gave Raine a bootleg from one of the shows he went to..

Like I said. I love the song- "With or Without You on The Street With No Name.. In other words-The End Is Where We Begin..

Other then that pretty nice to hear. Alot of this was in print over time. I remember the Teaching the kids to get involved piece.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

"That songs really about... well, not a ghost persay, but someone who acts like a ghost, you know? I think we all have people in our lives that you think you're close to, but then you realize "Wow, I really don't even know this person." You know, and I think that it could be a relationship that's lost or a friend that gets off track, and it's just kind a... I don't know if it ends up being a really positive thing. It's really just about trying to describe that situation where it's like, "Man, I thought I knew you but I guess I didn't." And sometimes that's just a reality as well. It's like you-... I think that anyone who has any kind of spirituality in them, you always think you can fix things, you know? Whether it's bringing someone to your yoga class or whatever you know, or like trying to get them to eat better. Some people are just different and sometimes you just gotta accept that."

You've been through a lot in that time frame, some guys have left, some were sick. Shit's happened. Was there one thing you guys came out of and realized you were better for it?
JT: You see all these other bands that break up and get back together for reasons that we're still together. We went through that, too, like, just figure it out. It's all personal stuff. If you don't air out your laundry it's just gonna turn sour, and that's it. You're done. It's happened with almost every band that we started with.

We saw it happening and like, man, these guys are not talking and man, you could just pick them apart. It got to the point where we had pools going on bands that were opening for us and I don't think I lost one... I said, "These guys are gonna be done by the end of the tour" on a band that I can't say the name because it happened.

WHOS THE BAND?!
-Sarah

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
