Producers

Post by MindsOnLoan »

I read an interview recently where Raine said they could possibly be interested in working with an outside producer on the next album. So I got to thinking, what producer could help bring the best out of them? So I'm interested to see what producer(s) you guys would like to see the band work with. One rule: In order to prevent the extremely obvious choice, Arnold Lanni is not an option.

Personally, I think it would be cool to see the guys work with Brendan O'Brien. He has been involved with what are arguably some of the best albums of the past 20 years. He produced the majority of Pearl Jam's discography, STP's albums (although I know some people here aren't exactly a fan of that), a few Rage Against the Machine albums, and worked with legends such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springstein, and Neil Young. He has also found success commercially and creatively with such bands as The Offspring and Incubus (the music may be poppier but is still good). He even produced AC/DC's "come-back" album, Black Ice.

He also has mixed albums such as Soundgarden's "Superunknown," RHCP's "Blood Sugar Sex Magik," and you guessed it, Our Lady Peace's "Spiritual Machines."

Thanks to the almost unarguable highlight of OLP's discography, he has experience with the band. I think he would do great with them.

I dunno... regardless of how it turns out, I like that the band produced this one themselves and would like to see that carry on in the future. Raine's definitely competent as a producer, and I like knowing that we'll really get to see what comes out of just the four guys we've been listening to all these years.

So my answer is... nobody.

Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts, maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art!

After Chris Cornell's album?

No, no, no. :(

I think they should work with Matt Bayles, or someone like that.

 ... however i tell this because Mike became producer after the collaboration with Arnold...and then he can have the same musical influence...but for me Raine have made a good work for his first big experience like producer

Brian Eno seems like someone Raine would get.

For a serious response, though, the topic post kinda convinced me that Brendan O'Brien would be a good pick. So I'll second that one.

*wonders if Trustworthy knows something we don't know*

If Rick Rubin produces for them, they're all gonna start meditating. I can see it now.

I vote No on Timbaland, after he ruined Chris Cornell IMO. I do vote yes on Brendan O'Brien though!
