It's 3:54, not six. I don't get why it says six. Time slows down on the internet.

There was a technical problem with the MP3 we ripped so it was saying 6 min when it was really just 3:54

I'm sorry....however the song is amazing and the guitar solo is spectacular...but now paper moon is the second single? Trustworthy can you tell us???

Is it:

"we can put all our candles under that paper moon"

or

"we can burn out like candles under that paper moon"?

...too bad I can't hear the song yet. I will hop to it when I get home. It sounds great, though, but obviously I don't want to make any conclusions before hearing the rest of the song.

I've said it once, I'll say it again; Poor Trustworthy. So many questions.

Let's try not to get our hopes up here, everyone. Notice how almost none of the old-schooler's are posting their comments about the song? (i.e. the people with >5,000 posts) The truth is, that if OLP had premiered "Al Genina" this time four years ago, everyone would have been totally pumped for HIPT the same way that everyone is right now for Burn Burn. The veterans have all been through this before and know that a good OLP song doesn't mean a good OLP record ;) .

Nevertheless, I really did enjoy the song! The non-traditional song structure appeals to me.

On the other hand, just because someone has posted here for years, that doesn't make their opinion more important or valid than others. Many of us have recently joined, but have been listening to OLP since the beginning.

It wasn't my intention to say that your opinion was less important. If anything, your opinion is more important on the board since they haven't posted theirs yet. I'm just trying to shine light on the remarkable fact that almost none of the "veterans" have replied to these new "preview" threads (and these people seem to have posted everywhere else).

And I'm also not implying that you haven't been a fan for as long either. But, in my experience, being on a fan forum shines things in a different light. I was a fan of OLP long before I started lurking/posting here as well, but when I came here (and the hub) I started downloading little "goodies" like live versions of "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" and "Not Afraid" that were absoutely amazing, which I never would have seen if it wasn't for this place. There were also those demos for HIPT, that I probably wouldn't had come accross if I wasn't on a forum either. The point that I'm trying to make here is that all of these clips/songs that we got before the album came out were totally changed for the actual release of HIPT, and really did not paint a clear picture of what the album would be like.

I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasn't my goal.

No no, I wasn't offended at all.

And I agree, early demos don't give a good preview of an album. I think what's different in this case (if only a little bit) is that thes aren't demos, they are the studio versions.

Although I would like to add to those people saying that it would be nice to have an extra chorus on the end of the solo.

Having a 2-chorus, no-bridge, guitar solo song is great for someone like Matt Good, who has epic 5-8 minute songs all the time. It doesn't work as well (in my opinion, at least!) for 3.5 minute songs. It's not a huge complaint though! This is a fantastic song with a wonderful sound.

I've been here years and years now. I love the song. Trustworthy, is it:

You'll fight traffic jams and big TVs

or you'll FIND traffic...

I like fight. Don't know why.
"I'll never get over you."
