personally I am big fan of "never get over you" its my fav right now...well along with escape artist and white flags and monkey brains, and paper moon and dreamland and every other song on this record lol
you know what ? i'm gonna just go ahead and say it - in my opinion this is the best olp record ever made - no filler, just good, honest , FULL songs, and the record just flows so well, a solid listen front to back.

Never Get Over You kind of sounds like a cheesy love ballad. Here's to hoping I'm wrong though.
I'm getting very curious about Signs of Life though. That's one song that hasn't been talked about at all.

I just can't get over how awesome this song is going to be though. I would have never pictured OLP doing something that sounds that blues-y. Plus the song has freaking sleighbells in it, which is pretty damn cool. Jer also does a few cool things in the short time we heard him, I especially like the little galloping sound right before the "They just don't know anything at all." Raine also sounds great. He goes from having a smooth voice sounding laid-back, to the falsetto, to him FINALLY singing with emotion again when it gets softer.
I can't wait to hear them all sing in the second chorus, and Steve's epic solo.

Yeah agreed, this song is really shining. Keeping with the OLP I've always known, being unique and doing things they and others have never done yet before. Absolutely pumped for this album!
Oh, and Minds, you're sure a lot more excited now than you were back when we heard that AYD clip on the Strombo show huh!! Haha remember that?? Boy you were pissed LOL

Happy to say though, that seems to be far from the case. Paper Moon and Monkey Brains are two of the band's best songs in many years.

I really think the way they recorded this album made a difference. By not listening to the music for a month at a time, they forced themselves to have a fresh look every time they came back to Raine's.
This is much better than grueling it out trying to make each and every song perfect, when a fresh look would easily make you realize that it's not worth it.
