Well not the whole song Escape Artist, but there's a clip of it in Chapter 2 on OLP.NET, it's the first clip. We figured out this was Escape Artist because the file name for the audio file was "EAsolo.mp3" or something like that.
EDIT: And like Rural Juror just said, this may not be the final version, but it sounds great.

I don't know if its been discussed or not but I think that "All You Did Was Save My Life" is a derivative of "Waiting For Something to Happen". Obviously the text is completely new but I see many similar trends between the two songs musicly (similar chord progressions for both, verses and chorus). Not sure if these two songs have been played at the same show or not. Just my 2 cents..
Back to Monkey Brains and Raine's voice being too quiet... the spot where "celebrate with cheap champagne" really shows that the voice should be louder in the mix, for you can't even hear the word 'champagne' unless you knew it was coming. It fades in with the guitar way to easily.
That's my only urk with this song... I like to hear the lyrics, not fight to hear them.

That's why I thought it was live. Worries me.

So far, based on Escape Artist and Monkey Brains, this album sounds like OLP B-sides to me. And I dunno why. That's a good thing, though--I don't mean they sound like songs that wouldn't make an album. OLP B-sides always just have a different feeling to them than the album songs. So this is like an album of that feeling, so far. I like it.
AYD doesn't fit into that, though. So we'll see. Also, it's possible I'm completely crazy.

I agree, and Trustworthy implied such a few days ago. In fact, that's the only reason I agree, since I've never heard WFSTH. Could've been a mislead, though, I suppose.

How is Monkey Brains like a B-side? frankly I think its one of the better songs they have done in almost a decade, escape artist from the clip almost follows the same suit, unless you mean every "awesome" olp song is a b-side then I have to disagree with you

That is indeed what I mean. Hence, "That's a good thing, though--I don't mean they sound like songs that wouldn't make an album." Trapeze is one of my favorite OLP songs. I'm talking B-sides like that and Home, not Better Than Here-style stuff. Dunno, there's just something about the sound of those songs that reminds me of these.

I expect people to film their shows before the CD comes out! They will be playing the new songs for sure, and I want to get a good listen of the ones we haven't heard!
I am excited to hear Refuge and Paper Moon after what the band has been saying. I already love White Flags and Dreamland (and Monkey Brains, of course). Add to that the clip of Escape Artist...I can't believe how excited I am for the CD! I can't believe how much potential it has.

I dunno Riley, I kinda want to wait until the CD (or studio versions) to listen to the ones we haven't heard yet. Because live versions can (and have) often give an entirely different portrayal of the actual studio version, whether worse or better. And we have to leave SOME songs for the first CD listen, no?
