We saw a list of songs in the studio when they were recording HIPT that eventually turned into other songs or we never heard, La Bra was one of them.

...And why not releasing an outstanding copy of the demos as well?

B-sides definitely, "La Bra", "Sleeping In", and maybe throw in some more RK excerpts in between the Spiritual Machines B-side tracks (I'm sure there were a bunch that Kurzweil made that didn't get on the album).

The special online performance would be cool. But arent they already doing that with Burn Burn?

I will watch the online performance and that will be it, it's over. A cd of besides is years of me listening to it and embracing it. Just like the past albums.

Plus, from what I have seen from question asked, they usually are lame and loo liked that are asked by Rolling Stone.

B-Sides are what almost all of OLP fans have been waiting and asking for, for years. I remember back in 1999 I was listening to the live version of Trapeze with my friends and wanted a studio version.

OLP could have done stuff like MUSE. Every time they released a single to buy, on it would be a b-side. This gave more incentive to buy it.

The live album was good, but I can't see my self driving in my car listening to it more than a couple times.

What is probably true is that all these b-sides are in a drawer somewhere just waiting to see the light of day.

Burn Burn is going to be 38 minutes long....38 MINUTES LONG!? That is practically a mini-album.

A B-side CD/I-tunes release would be probably the greatest thing OLP could ever do. Exclusive online performances would last for that small period of time. Meanwhile, we are all still listening to bad quality live b-sides wishing we heard the studio versions over some actual studio versions of song already on an official release.

As pretty much everyone else has said, a B-sides album would be fantastic.

And most of all for me, and the other OLP fans over here: a tour of the UK (Europe also). I am a fan unfortunate to have only ever heard of the band after they came over here in promotion of Gravity. And it would break my heart if I never got to see the songs that have helped me survive my adolescence, live, with the energy that they were originally intended to have. So, an official UK release of Burn, Burn and a promotional tour to go with it would be dandy.

Oh, and what would really be the icing on the cake would be album specific shows in promotion of a potential B-sides release. The band could also play the B-sides relevant to the album they're performing too. I know I'm being demanding here, but hell, that would be awesome. And a real money spinner too.

Sorry to keep going back to the B-Side but Jeremy played an awesome drum track off "Hit the Wall," on the radio once. It's another song that didn't make the cut for HiPT. It sounded kick ass!

It'd be nice to see songs thrown into their live set out of the blue more often.

Also, just an idea, but Jimmy Eat World just played a series of 10 dates for the ten year anniversary of the release of "Clarity". They played the record in its entirety from front to back. If I'm not mistaken, December of 2010 would be the 10 year anniversary of the release of Spiritual Machines. It would be incredible if OLP were to do something similar.

stepping out the b-sides mindset for a second, olp used to a number of live chats years ago. they don't do that anymore. it makes me sad.

I'd like to start of by saying, I pretty much love you Trustworthy. You are pretty awesome for taking the fans into this much consideration. I really mean it.

Varying setlists. It seems OLP plays almost the exact setlist, with minor changes, for many concerts in a row. I'd love to see it switched up a lot more. There could be a few songs that stick around more often than others, but I'd love to see non-singles from different albums make more frequent appearances. I'd even be cool to see unreleased tracks get played live. A few other bands do this (hell, Dave Matthews Band is still playing unreleased tracks that have been around for 10+ years), and it would make sense if they did the B-Side album. Many hardcore OLP fans' favorite songs aren't the big hits, so it'd really get energy flowing through the crowd and would give awesome stories for people to rave about when posting online or talking with their friends.

Of course, a B-Side album (keep reading, I'm tossing out a few other ideas with it). I have a pretty big collection of unreleased songs played live, but the studio versions have never been released. That's a shame, since some of these songs are very creative, very powerful, and have phenomonal hooks (I can't tell you how many times I've walked around singing Sleeping In, Trapeze, Vampires, and Home). We know that about 30 songs were recorded for both HIPT and Burn Burn, I think I recall reading an old interview where Raine said there was 20+ songs written for Clumsy, there are a few Spiritual Machines outtakes (along with Ordinary and Sleeping In [maybe others?] from Happiness), a few from Naveed, and Demo songs. I'm not saying we need all of them (as that would be pretty tough for Healthy and Burn Burn, and maybe Clumsy if that many were recorded), but I would love to have a 2-or-3-disc B-Side CD. I think a few of these songs could even hold their own as singles. It would be really cool to see some of these songs live as well. I also wouldn't mind having a bonus DVD of footage of the band in the studio jamming, working, or just having interesting conversations from the different albums. It would be cool to also have the band speak on questions the fans have been wondering for years (like Mike's reasons for leaving, lack of falsetto, etc), telling why certain fan-favorites didn't make albums, and which are their favorites.

Still on the album discussion, I think it would be awesome if the booklet that comes with CDs had artwork that wasn't used for different OLP albums, whether it be Oli's work or the marianettes from Clumsy. It would be amazing to have Sol Fox on the cover another time as well.

Fan Interaction courtesy of .NET. I've seen that the band has done meet-and-greets before. It'd be pretty cool if .NET would give opportunities for the fans to make it to some of these events. I also really dig your idea of the online concert where the fans could ask questions, just as long as they don't make it where only simple, stupid questions that have been asked 100 times before can actually get through. There is some other things could be done to interact with the fans, but I can't really think of anything at the moment, so I may have to post some more later.

If there is another live CD/DVD... I'm usually not a big fan of live CDs, as a lot of bands just half-ass a performance of their biggest hits or whatever songs are on the album they're touring for (I'm not saying OLP did this, I'm just speaking in general). But Live did seem like a Gravity-plugging-machine. If there is another live CD/DVD, I would love to see the band do something different. The album shouldn't revolve around the hits or a recent studio album. OLP should record a performance of songs they think they did wonderful when playing live, whether the songs are well known or not. It should be the songs they did something strange but beautiful with, and not like a carbon-copy of a studio recording. Certain songs could have the band taking breaks from the song to just jam out. I think fans would really enjoy this, especially the ones attending.

That's all the ideas I have for now. If I have more, I'll post them later.

Oh man, this could be a field day.

1. B-side compilation. Full CD release.
2. PLEASE MAKE A DVD OF THE MUSIC VIDEOS SO I CAN CARRY MY LIFE ON. Throw the unreleased ones in there too. Certain shady individuals may already have them though.
3. Fan meet and greets at concerts. 30-45 minutes of interaction.
4. Soundcheck pass contests on .net.
5. OPEN TAPING POLICY PLZZZZZZZZZZ@@!!! I realize there is a ton of red tape that goes along with this. Look at what other artists are doing out there now. Nine Inch Nails is open taping on this tour and it was so relaxing to walk in with my gear and not have to hide it all in my underwear. I can find their policy and forward it to you, but it's been handled extremely well by fans so far, and the band has done well notifying the venues about it.
6. Please drop the robotic, monotonous, never varying, same old same old, night after night setlists from the live shows. pick 4 must play nightly songs, and rotate the rest of the stuff out. It would be awesome to see them 2-3 times in a week and not get the exact same staged and rehearsed show every night.

B-sides for the win, though. This would please the legions of hardcore fans more than anything.

Oh yeah, and a US tour with OLP headlining. I've never seen them live, and if they tour the US, I want them with the most time on stage.
