I'm guessing but it could make some sense in this situation. Is OLP signed by any major label? This could be a reason why we are experiencing such a delay and even Steve is open-ended about a release schedule. For anyone that goes on FMQB, OLP still doesn't have a company attached to their name. http://fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=16770 , go to the bottom of the page and you'll see OLP there under the TBD section. I know other bands on the list don't have labels attached as well (Pearl Jam). But I'm guessing they're toying around with some ideas on how to release this album and who's going to carry it on their label. Just a though.

As far as I know, they're not on a label. They just have distribution deal with Sony.

thats a huge bummer on the release date, i don't even know what to say just really disappointed

He said it will hopefully be out this summer. It's not something solid, and it's as soon as we could really get it at this point. It's pretty much exactly what we would expect for a release date from a band member - something soon and tentative!
At least Steve has the foresight to admit he could be wrong!

Oh, see, I wasn't expecting concrete info by now. I think most of the people here have a similar attitude - we've been through this before, and when they say "soon" we just assume they mean "a year from now", because the updates we've been given for albums in the past really haven't been reliable, and it's tended to take way longer than expected.

I wasn't really expecting anything, so I think whats already surfaced has surpassed my expectations.

A summer release would be great. Nothing better than new music (hopefully solid) in the summer...

It's been mentioned numerous times that OLP is not on a label, that they are producing this album themselves. Partly why we all thought "Escape Artist" was such a good title for the album - a non-label release, escaping from Sony/Bob Rock, etc.

Yeah, there's lots of time between now and 2011 to switch your vote to 2018!
Or maybe about the time they start sending their kids to college...

No. The album must be finished by the children once they begin their music careers.
