I'm with Neo — seems there are very few other people (hardcore fans) who like Gravity over HIPT.

Although I agree that HIPT was somewhat more reminiscent of the older material, the songs were just not catchy or memorable whatsoever to me, while Gravity's — though mainstreamish — were.

HIPT's songs were too polished, probably from too many returns to the studio for changes... which hopefully the new album won't suffer from.

I liked Gravity more than HIPT, but I enjoyed HIPT as well. It just wasn't OLP enough for me.

i've been extremely curious to find out which songs they've been playing live will make the album. Like, Dreamland we've never heard since the summer. I hope White Flags makes it. Monkey Brains, sure, and also The Right Stuff. Waiting for something to Happen, too. But I wonder if some will go away or become like iTunes exclusives.

New OLP update:

"We are enjoying the fine comedic styles of Danny Mcbride. Flaws are in!"

...whatever that means. LOL. Anyway I'm liking this Twitter thing, I'm surprised it's being updated so frequently.

Updated about an hour ago:

"Steve is laying down guitar tracks, Raine is writing lyrics, Duncan is about to track bass, and Jeremy shot 79 today! Burn Burn"

Seriously? Isn't this all supposed to be done by now?

Best guess: Jeremy is either

A) Lying about the updates which make it seem like they're still in studio and not finished the album, which they are.
B) They're actually in the studio still working on the album.
C) They're practicing for the Fanfest / other shows.
D) They're making iTunes bonus tracks for the CD.
E) Jeremy has nothing better to do than fuck with everyone.

Healthy in Paranoid Times is about 100X the album Gravity is. It has some artistic merit. Angels Losing Sleep is actually one of their best songs. Overall, it's just a much more mature sound than Gravity.

Mature isn't always better.... Guess we could compare this mature to NKOTB.
