I emailed the radio station power97, i asked when the right stuff would be hitting the radio and this is what they wrote back to me:

"I met with their label today and they had no date listed for future release. Sounds like the project is on ice. (For now)"

i wonder if they're pushing everything back, i hope not.

haha this is OLP. i think there's an ongoing agreement among fans, to not expect anything before 2020!

I also don't see Radio Station DJ's getting off their fugly bottoms and actually meeting with the labels.

I buy it about as much as I'd buy Johnny's moms bra that apparently Brian bought (judging from that photo) because I wasn't willing to pay enough.

Phew. Wow was that long. Which is what Johnny's mom told me. Ooooooooh!

Do they even have a label? Last I heard from one of Raine's interviews is Sony Canada was just responsible for distribution in Canada. That was it. I doubt this guy met with the label. And they wouldn't of done the work for a video is they knew it wasn't going to come out soon. I think this is just old news that has carried over the past few months. But it would be nice for OLP to come out and update their fans with just something. Like "hey, it's looking like summer 09". That's the one thing I can't stand about OLP in recent years is the lack of updates to their fans. Which is why they struggle to keep solid record sales and book consistent tours. As soon as fans don't get the updates and the excitements isn't created, they move on and listen to other bands and put their attention and money there. Just my two cents, I'm not saying I'm right. But that's how I felt about OLP in recent years. I would travel hundreds of miles to see them. Now, I would ponder a two hour drive. They just disconnect from their fans and it sucks. How hard is it to update a MySpace page? It would take a whole five minutes to keep you fans happy and engaged. And we don't even get that. I know they're all busy with various projects, kids, marriage, and all the rest. But that's still not an excuse to keep you diehards waiting and waiting.

yeah it would be nice if they would update us a little bit even once a month or 2 months would be nice it's getting very frustrating....

Mark, I'm with you 100% on that. I'm not asking for detailed day-to-day activities of the band, but being updated on a slightly more regular schedule would be nice.

It's kind of sad... We're probably looking at a video coming out within the next month or so, and OLP hasn't made any announcements on what the single would be, anything about the music video, when the single/video will be released, any info about the album besides the title, an album release date, or tracks being pondered. All of the information we know has come from other sources, besides Jeremy's FaceBook, which the only people that can see it are his friends on there.

It's ridiculous. I'm not trying to give off an "I'm entitled to this" vibe, because that's far from my opinion, but isn't it just common curtousy and respect to even tell fans the slightest bit of information so we're not in the dark about everything? They don't have to inform us about every little decision they make, but they've pretty much cut off people completely. Hell, when they played the few shows throughout 08, they didn't even make an announcement. The shows were just quietly added onto their Tour Dates section. It's just a bit vexing.

Yeah, just a simple "it's being delayed" or "it's comin out in 2 months" would be freaking sweet... I almost feel that they're not feelin the music or aren't excited about it... or maybe they're simply just too busy with other personal matters, which is fine, my family would come before my profession too, obviously. But their last MySpace update was for the PEI concert in July 2008! When I joined here!

The lack of information released about the shows they played was kinda weird, but I think maybe they wanted them to be sort of "secret"-like shows to test out some of the new stuff, and get back into the whole live thing without too much of a fuss. Belly Flop Communists style, minus the name change, if you will.

Regardless, it's really not good for a band these days to be so quiet toward their fans. With the internet shaping how the music industry works right now, you really need to have more contact to stay relevant.

Some of the bands I listen to are crazy about updates to their fans. Marianas Trench have a mailing list that gets updated at least once a month, if not more. They get their fans excited about things by challenging them to get engaged in endorsing a new CD or doing a remake of one of their music videos, etc etc. It not only gives the band exposure, but it's nice to know that the band is actually trying to reach out.

And you can email the band. It always seems that either the drummer or the bassist replies, and I really do appreciate that they take the time to talk to fans.

Yeah, a lot of bands are doing that kind of thing now. That kind of communication is really nice for bridging the gap between band and fans.

But, as nice as it'd be if OLP did that, it's fine if they don't. Just... SOMETHING. Oy.
